This is an outlandish undeserved punishment and an abuse of your power. I you are going to parole him, do so, if not, you should leave him alone. This is one of the many reasons I don't like forums. Over half the mods/admins of any forum arnt fit to moderate.

Oh come on. There are far bigger ways to abuse power. I could ban someone that I don't like, for instance, or word filter a common word amongst people I don't like to say something completely different and derogatory. I could capriciously edit posts.

it's fucking hilarious, that's what it is. he's been warned, and instead of impairing his posting ability by paroling him, he's just being humbled a little bit. obviously, all of us constantly reminding him not to backseat moderate didn't do much good, so hopefully his new look will serve a better job of reminding him.

and if you don't like the forums, leave. don't like the admins? too bad, they'll likely be around here for a damn long time, and nobody said you couldn't go back to gamefaqs or whatever hellhole you crawled out of. guy has been warned, he's not being picked on at all, and it's nothing short of just a harmless joke.

and about your "the mods and admins aren't fit to moderate" attittude, i'll just say that nobody liked SNORK, nobody likes Agent Smith, and if you keep it up nobody's going to like you. (and unlike what guy's been doing, i'm speaking from total experience on this.) even if it doesn't end up getting you banned or paroled or whatever, nobody likes someone who bitches and complains. if you don't like the forums, don't post on them, it's that simple.

Outlandish, yes. Undeserved, perhaps. Abuse of power, you bet your ass it is. But punishment? No, I don't see it as such. He's not being unduly restricted, beyond being forced to wear a badge that indicates that he was acting a bit above his station. And if you want to ask me how I'd feel if the same happened to me, I have to say I'd probably find it hilarious, and maybe even take the hint. The only thing this is hurting is guy's pride, and that's exactly what it's designed to do. I'm not going to apologize for a little harmless mischief now and then.

I'm not one to stick up for the underdogs that much, but I'm also not one for bullying. Although I admit this is pretty clever, it's also cruel.

Then again, I'd kill to have my own members group. As long as I could edit my posts the same way I can as an elite.
