This idea has been brought up a bunch, but no one has actually released a game that uses this. I think it's a good idea, sort of like Neverwinter Nights.

I remember the first version of LoR I made years ago. It had about 8 boards, one character class, built in enemies, hardly any graphics and it had smileys. But the one thing that has been kept almost unchanged is Laranto Village(Where the human starts), it was designed in the original game.

Heh... That's the way A New Dawn was, which is continued in Jewel of Arc. I just kept changing it as I learned more stuff.

It looks pretty damn good, rpg adventure games like this are always fun. But be sure to back up your files a lot when using this version of the port... I lost a global robot and two boards to the port, and it didn't only happen because I wasn't saving enough.

i've had enough problems without backing up before.

It's nice to hear that you are still working on this.

The screenshots show improvement from the demo I
played many months ago.

I've just signed the pledge so expect it then.

I'm goin to to be doin most of the work over the next two weeks i have off, so i'll proberly have a few more screenshots and journal updates.

Intro Screen : 100%

Game engines : 98%

Population : 60%

Quests :75%

Lands : 90%

Enemies : 90%

overall completion : 85%

Most of the work I have to do now are the people and tie up loose ends on the quests. i'm tryin to add a bit of character to the people in the world otherwise it would just be monky see monky do rpg (like diablo which i dont like) which we dont want now do we.

Just wondered if there is anybody out there who would like to make mods for LoR i've tried modplug but I really cant get the hang of it. The sort of music i'm looking for is like the QDPB and Shining Legend and other fantasy rpg sorta music.

I'll GIVE you an S3M i wrote for a project that prolly won't get done...It's not the best thing in the world but for a less-dark area of the game it might fit okay...

PM or post here if yer interested. I haven't even seen the screenshots as of this writing BUT I saw your completion stuff and was like WOW THIS'LL ACTUALLY GET DONE! So I'd be happy to contribute to the project...

-edit- anyone who's heard my old mods might be concerned that this might stink. Don't worry, using ACID Techno has helped improve my music-making skills a lot.

I've been doing a lot of work this past week, many hours a day and up until four in morning to try and work around other schedules. now im a slow mzx'er but this is quite a bit i've done.

-found modplug tracker downloaded and figured out how the hell it works.
-made mods for LoR (mainly cutting and pasting bits out of other mods but hey!)
-completely redone one of the races(new name, new backround, new start town ect)
-a lot of bug testing and straitened out the gameplay(made enemies harder/weaker more/less items.)
-new logo for me! (Games Of LeDgEnD now)
-in process of changing day/night engine
-two new guilds to join and more quests/jobs for guilds
-a few new area's to explore
-proberly a few other things aswell

here's a percentage thingy: -

Intro Screen : 100%

Game engines : 98%

Population : 80%

Quests :85%

Lands : 95%

Enemies : 98%

overall completion : 90% (This is only the first area though, and now swap world
is working and once this is finished I can start work on the other two worlds aptly named, Legend of Elontis and Legend of Norcu) (oh yeah LoR wont be completely complete as there are many other area's and idea's I will add, but this will still be a fully playable game.)

Must get back to work now. LeD

Here ya go, sorry it's so late. I don't think I can PM it, so I'm posting the S3M here. If you're on the port (I want to say you are but I'm hesitant to) just use it, if not use 2GDM I guess. Change the filename if you want, just make sure I get credit.
There's my only terms for using this, LeDgEnD.

Intro Screen : 100%

Game engines : 98%

Population : 80%

Quests :70%

Lands : 100%

Enemies : 100%

Guilds : 50%

overall completion : 80%

The reason the overall completion has gone down is because ive decided to put a few more thing into the G:LoR before I release it, mainly to do with advancing in the guilds and more quests.

All the map boards have now been completed there are 62 200x50 suface map boards fully done and over 90 for the whole game.

The full game name is now Guilds:Legend of Rhovanion which is the first of three, which are Legend of Norcul and Legend of Elontis.

At the moment i'm still planning on releasing the complete game by dec but I cant say for sure.

EDIT: For those who don't know G:LoR is a fantasy Adventure/RPG, It doesn't have a traditional plot like most games, rather you travel the land doing as you please, joing guilds or covens. Becoming an evil baron or noble lord, as you progress through the game you can become renowned, respected, hated, be corrupted by evil or follow the light on your quest to become a Legend among the people of Rhovanion.

Right i gotta problem. I tried installing winxp sp2 on my laptop which has messed it all up so I cant even load up xpwithout the cd and stupidly did not backup G:LoR. so untill further notice its on hold again. If i can get the laptop working without loosing mzx then G:LoR will be released soon after as it is near completion. I dont know if it will be out by dec though.

oh yeah, this is not a blag!

winxp sp2 sux!

Ive managed to get my laptop working again and still have G:LoR so progress will continue. Im a bit behind schedule so there will be a delay witrh the release. Im sorry it xcouldnt be releasedf for the pledge but it is near completion and will be finished within the next few months.
Ive also had time to think about the game so im making more big changes aswell.
I will be updating this journal as much as i can to keep you all in the know.
