Just a few fixes for the upcoming DoZ. I probably won't be able to update again, so here's hoping things are good. Just the same, keep me posted on anything you find.

Take note of the force_32bpp option in config.txt, try it if you have problems with fullscreen.

Even if you don't have trouble with fullscreen use it because it stops MZX being flickery when changing a lot of colours quickly.

A much-welcomed option. I can run MZX fullscreen now.

Now if I could just figure out how to add 640x700 as a resolution choice for my monitor...might need to go get PowerStrip.

Built in extra lives no longer glow, plus the color fades no longer seem to work now. Do I need to change settings or something?

Build-in lives glowing was removed in 281/281b on charges of looking retarded and the colour fade removal I suspect is a byproduct of force_32bpp

The lives thing was broken 2.81b due to the big overhaul (knew something would come up).. I fixed that and the color fades, everyone redownload.

Heh, it's funny, because now I CAN'T use fullscreen :<

And I refuse to use MZX if I can't have fullscreen :<

Any ideas as to how to solve this problem?

Turn off force_32bpp in the config file.

It's off :<

Everything's set to default, and this usually only happens when I'm running earthlink and I'm not. Before the update I could use fullscreen just fine.

If everything's set to default, try setting the config file to open with full-screen. This is not a default option (at least it wasn't in 2.81b).

...No, that wouldn't fix anything. If it won't open from minimized, why would it work just going straight to max? Besides, I tried it already.

I'll talk to you about it sometime later, but right now the best thing to do is force a resolution (640x480 is a good place to start, and if that works 640x400 is pretty good, if you can get 640x700 + 2x height multiplier that's good too) and force 32bpp. Make sure the # at the beginning of the line in config.txt is removed or else the line is a comment.

Would I be stepping on your toes, Exo, if I asked that if when someone finds something else that needs to be fixed, that you could also add a few lines to the "game_load" counter code that would ensure that the gameplayer was in gameplay mode and not titlescreen mode?

I was just thinking it'd be really cool to bypass the "press p" and just make the title screen make a save game, and then load it. Thussly bypassing press p.

HOWEVER, the way the "game_load" counter code is, it loads the game data, but doesn't set the gamplayer to do gameplay, and not interpret it as a title screen.
