I'd say the dialog box fits the style of the rest of MZX's interface, and it's easier to understand as well.

Based on Pico. Hence the name Nano. It's like vim to vi.

Even though I probably would still use arrows/home/end/page up/page down to navigate, I choose the true blue box over the dead red one.

I like the up/down dialog, although I would probably not get much use out of the feature, since I don't usually worry about line numbers.

Blue one.

Also. The ability to delete the player would be awesome.

That'd completely wreak havoc on everything, so no.

half-block? are you saying you want to double the resolution? or do you want to draw across the charset in half-blocks?

exo, is there any way we could have rounding in the expressions? pretty please?

What do you mean rounding? Rounded integer divide? You mean like a + (b / 2) / b? Try that.

Yeah. Rounded dividing for everything would really suck because it would be weird.

Maybe a rounding operation/counter like "round(MATH STUFFS)" However I think math stuff would have to be converted to return a float and not a long... But that'll probably cause more harm than it's worth.

Just a thought.

Nah, not when you just have to add a teeny bit to your code like Exo demonstrated.

The code was screwy, I fixed it. a + (b / 2) / b, will bump up all a's halfway or over to the next b to the next one, won't do so for those under half.

I know this'll probably never be implemented but I would love having larger charsets.

Also having more than one global robot would rock my socks.

I don't really understand any of this, but to evaluate a/b you could

set "result" to "('a'/'b'+('a'%'b'<<1>='b'))"

or something

Nope. Far too many fundamental changes to the way MZX works. Everything including the world file format would have to be redone to support multibyte in this area, for things like customblocks, overlay etc.

Why, I hear you ask, can't we just keep the current world format etc. but just add in a hack to display additional chars from the expanded character set, and a similar hack to write to those chars with char edit etc.? Because MZX already has enough silly hacks like this and it all serves to make about a billion ways of doing everything when the next big update to MZX occurs. Stuff like this makes MZX generally less consistant across the board.

Quote

Also having more than one global robot would rock my socks.

More achievable, but once again will require a rewrite to the MZX world format, which, for the last time, isn't going to happen until MZX 3. Besides, you use far too many robots as it is. Think of inventive timesharing methods to keep all your code in one global robot.

Either that or take the copout method and just have a global robot that automatically loads an MZM full of robots somewhere to the board each time a new, previously unvisited board is loaded.

How on earth do you NOT use a global bot?
well, not use it on a major project not a project for BXZX or DoZ.

Doomboy: You do realize that global robots didn't even exist until MZX 2, right? :D

Having more than one global robot would be nice, but I doubt the world format would allow for it.
