I figured I needed one of these big everything-journals because I MAKE SO MANY DAMN GAMES amirite.

anyway

I didn't officialy release it, but there's this Katamari Damacy Clone demo I'm sure you'll love. If you already clicked the "Help Exo" thing in my sig then you've seen it. It's in the archive too. I mainly put this here because there's really no other place to make comments about it.

Also, here is a screenshot of this RAW reader I made in action (and the title screen for another game):

OK, so in Flantasia 4, I've got the inn part done. There is a PLOT FORK at this point depending on how many coins you have! :D I'm up to level 6.

In KDC, I'm up to level 3 which is the countertop. I'm thinking of making a mode where you can just run through the entire game without cutscenes. If you play through the whole game at this point your blob will be, uh, about 500x the size, I think. 4mL to 2L.

I probably won't put in a time limit, since this game is rather puzzley.

How are you going to fit a katamari on the screen that's 500 spaces wide (assuming the original size is one char)? Also, what I remember from the first couple levels, you pick up bacteria and amoebas and such...when will you start picking up like CARS and BOEING 747'S?

Plot fork =O.

Plot forks can be a very fun thing. I wonder where you got the inspiration to do that?

Plot forks can be fun, HOWEVER, you'd better plan them out carefully so that it doesn't just get weird and clumsy.

Wow, a plot fork. Like everyone else said though its better to plan our the fork well otherwise it end up failing miserably.

Besides, mine is a motel, not an Inn.

CJA's work is, historically, pretty blatantly derived, and I might mention that if it wasn't so fucking consistently excellent

Well anyway its like I making a big deal about it, although I think its funny how we're all getting the same ideas.

The plot fork just affects the tide in the next level. (a LOT.) And so if you wait till so and so then you get to skip the entire level by just swimming. If not then you have the chance to get more coins so something like this never happens again! And when you go to the next level everything will be the same. (Or maybe there will be COPS about if you don't pay...) It's a plot fork followed closely by a plot merge. I CALL IT THE PLOT HEXAGON due to the shape it would make should you make a flowchart.

Also, my inn is in ... a building. :D

But it's a warm and friendly and fireplaced building and EVERYONE BLINKS!

The main reason I made an Inn in the first place is because I think the player should have: a feeling of individual sections of the game; a place to heal, of course; a sense that civilization exists, but you're simply not in it; and YES YES a method for cameoing.

Well, you see, the screen ZOOMS OUT inbetween levels. That's the main point in having individual levels. And no I don't mean it runs a resize algorithm and blah blah. Also, due to the silly way that volume relates to size, you will be able to pick up the cars very, very soon.

By the way, I found a bug in FT4:

Just staying in that one corner will cause all the ammo to stack up, blocking the flying Jerms, and eventually using up all the robots.

That reminds me of the joke that starts out like "Doctor, it hurts when I do this."

Fine, I'll make the ammo pushable.

But try and put yourself in a real life situation here. Oh, say YOU were being attacked by real flying jerms and needed to shoot your gun across the fire pit. Would YOU just let the ammunition that falls from the ceiling just stack up in front of you? I think not. Problem solved.

Also added a FAWESOME inventory system to Tuxedo Ted. The boxes fill the screen, so the screen scrolls in that jerking motion you usually see in menus. Like the moment you go offscreen the screen pans to that spot, and the closer it gets the slower it goes, so it's real smooth. It works with slots. You have 12 slots for items. And the items are not preset-- their names and pictures can be changed. Wrote routines for taking, giving, using and changing items.

CJA can you at least explain where that screenshot is taking place because it doesn't look like the atmosphere is breathable.

sunset

It gets more purple and dark as you progress through the level. But it doesn't light back up if you backtrack. (that is the beauty of it k)

ok so search for spices is basically a downgraded version of treasure hunt by gemini : )

The inventory system is cool but I mean you might as well make something with it rather then just upload it as is.

It's kinda useless.

I'm still working on it!!

Finished level 7.

oh and nobody really cares about calculators anymore but I made a little thing on the homescreen where you are a PI(*rawr*) and you can push around BOXES(actually plus signs but whatever). And there are obstacles and stuff that you can't push boxes into or walk into. Also, you can push multiple boxes in a row.

JUST LIKE MEGAZEUX!

maybe it can be ported to a calculator after all!

I can't work on Flantasia 4 until Friday because dad's on a vacation to Jamaica.

Around this time, I'm beginning to feel the END OF TERM SQUEEZE in school-- everything I didn't work on is coming back to haunt me. Brr. It's funny the way I want time to slow to a crawl, and yet I want summer to be here now.

Also, when at mom's I'm a lot busier... so I haven't had time to MZX. I even had to drop out of a BKZX last night :D
