Hello everyone,

Since I was in a bad biking accident 2 days ago I've been sitting at home recovering and creating an smzx palette/char editor. It is nearly complete, moreso awaiting your input, but it also lacks the ability to save palettes or charsets right now.

Im releasing what I have done up to this point for your input.
Please read over the popup screen at the begining, play around with this, draw stuff, try and break the engines even. Im looking for feedback to make this better before I finish it.

Good going. I'll check it out in later.

EDIT: It's in MZX, huh? Well, I kinda had doing one outside of MZX in mind, but I guess this _could_ work. It's just that you then need the same palette for the editor as the thing you're already drawing. We'll see..

<Malwyn> Yes, yes. Don't worry I'd rather masturbate with broken glass than ask you for help again. :(

Nedemai, this is pretty cool! It's innovative and easy to use. I'll be using this for future projects that involve smzx in the future :( .

The palette editor was pretty solid. I had an easier time figuring this out than palzor 2. However, maybe you could add on the ability to use the "R", "G", and "B" keys opposed to clicking the arrows? Or, maybe keep both ;) . It's up to you!

The char set editor was nice. It was easier than the regular SMZX char editor, imo. BUT...it'd be nice to have the ability the highlight which chars you want to edit at once instead of the ones side by side.

This is a great utility! I can't wait for this to be finished!

And, Lancer, a standalone SMZX editor would pretty nice. It's just that in-game SMZX editors are more convinent ...I guess :p .

Edit: THERE SHOULD BE AN SMZX EDITOR IN ZZT!!!!!

Interesting utility. A little difficult to use, but thats probably just me. It's cool how you can edit the character set aswell.

I didn't change too much, added a few extras. If you want to load/save charsets and palettes you can hit S to do so now, but I feel I should mention 6 characters on the first line of charset and the color cf0(which in smzx 3 is like cf0, cf1, cf2 and cf3) is used to allow the editor to look proper. This means loading smzx palettes and charsets from old smzx projects will most likely bugger up the smzx editor as it is set up to run in mzx. (if you wanted to load an old charset, you would have to load into mzx editor and load a partial charset)

If you want to copy the character you are edit press A and it will be copied to its own copy window. If you want to paste the character into the area of the charset you are working on you can press Z to do so.

Anyways, this is considered almost the full thing aside from maybe adding a flashy title screen and fixing up some bugs. Please let me know if you run into bugs.

Paulguy, your link doesn't seem to work...

Also, I added a menu to allow much more ease loading and saving partial charsets. Its pretty straight forward. Download new file and test it out please thankyou ^.~
