There are always so many suggestions when you release a screenshot like this. Take what's given, but don't shy away from productivity, and especially don't start to post every single screenshot of the boards you make for us to OK it then you to move on. Not saying you'd do any of this, just saying. I like KK's suggestion though. To me, the whole screen would be more appealing if the sword was white.. and yeah, the handle to be thinner. But again, keep on producing further gameplay. Don't get hung up on things.

good to see some MZXers with the willpower left over to create games. KEEP THEM GOING! don't let anyone discourage you. :(

Yeah, Xeirxes...making games...guys, I really hope to finish a game I'm making, and release it and stuff, before I have to leave for college (Aug 16 or 17th I go! Then I'm not sure how much I'll be around) man...

Ok, thanks for the advice from most of you. I've fixed most the title screen so far. The only thing I have left to do is center the title like Guy wants.

Also, Zelda II IS the best one. There should be others in the series such as that one.

The beginning palace is done and I have a good general idea of which I want to take the game in. I've found a site where they have music from video games in module format, so I'm using those. I'm also looking for a good *.wav archive, but can't find one that let's you download them to your computer. Does anyone know of a good one? It would also help it there are some directly or similar to the ones in video games.

The progress is going steady for now.

I've been spending more time in ZZT than in MZX or some reason -_- . Anyway, I'm working on a ZZT game called Dry Blood about this guy, and I already released the demo on z2.

wtf
And here's the information

Also, for those who care, I will release what I have done of it so far...

;) <-- Click me.

-----------

For the Zelda II clone in MZX, that's comming along nicely. SmartRutter is helping with programming and stuff, so give him credit. Also, I'll work on it as soon as he fixes my programming flaws, particularly in my side-scroller engine.

As for Shocked, it's comming along slowely, but surely.

Mario 2(e) was a rip off yes. ;)
Zelda 2 wasn't.

Zelda 2 was ever zelda 2 but mario 2 was... something far from mario before, they just took that game put mario sprites and released it to america. LAME.

But that's not what I'm talking about, what I mean to say is that they just don't fit with the rest of the games, Zelda went back because people's reactions were as such "Well this is cool... but... it doesn't feel like zelda anymore :<" so they went back to the original style and expanded on it.

eh... I don't really care what other people's reactions were. Zelda II was, and always shall be, the best Zelda game released. Well, it's not like I have anything against the other Zelda games, it's just that Zelda II was more enjoyable for me.

Kuroneko, you have proved me wrong and for that I honor you. *ahem* Yeah, Zelda III is, and ever shall be the greatest whatever. Even though it has a different feel than Zelda II, it is a major imporvement. Not to say that Zelda II doesn't rank high upon my list of best games ever ;) . But, yeah, Zelda III IS awesome.

CP, I've fixed the side-scroller and part of your sword engine.
Just go on IRC sometime and I'll send it to you.

Second rapidshare link was removed as well. Rapidshare has permanence and annoyance problems.

As a post can't have two attachments, here attached is CP's "Dry Blood" ZZT file he had linked to in the post above!

Attached File(s)

Thanks, Terryn =) . I've been starting to use ZZT more. Before, I never really finished any good games, but I've gotten the hang of it. I guess learning MegaZeux had simplified it ;) .

As for Zelda MZX, I forgot to mention a few bugs...
  • The first playable board isn't centered :p .
  • The sword engine doesn't work well with the side-scrolling engine. Me and SmartRutter are going to turn in it into a sprite engine later.
  • There's a bug in the teleport engine to the cave, I think.

Other than that, enjoy! If you find any more bugs that I was unaware of, please let me know.

As for yucky rapidshare, I won't use that again :( . From now on, I'm going to use my own TOP SECRET WEBSITE, or use the DigiBoards as soon as this gosh-darn parole gets lifted.

K, time for updates!

Here's some photos...

http://i111.photobuc...112/aaaaaaa.png

I'm still making Shocked, even though it's comming along very slowely because I keep putting it off, and only work on it for little periods of time. But, it's not dead.

http://i111.photobuc...12/aaaaaaa1.png

Zelda MZX. This, as well as every other board in this game, is still in the process of completion. This is just so you know what me and SmartRutter are up to. Keep in mind that for Zelda MZX, my role is the main designer/artist, and SmartRutter's is the main programmer and stuff.

Also, I am in the process of a remake of City Limits! I've been planning this for weeks, but never dragged myself to do it until now! More news later.

Edit: Photobucket made my pictures too big :(

Edit 2: My pictures look like crap :( . Damn PhotoBucket! >:(

If you just want to take a screenshot of ZZT and not your whole damn desktop, try using Alt-Printscreen instead of just Printscreen.

i'm making a crappy pac-man clone called Crappy Pacman Clone COPYRIGHT ME.

here's a screenshot with some coolio markings for effect.

why are you following me?

the red area represents area that soon will be infested with enemies made out of sprites! i ...just have to learn how to program sprites first. i know how to create them and add collision (i think), it's just that i don't know how to program them ;) .

the green area represents empty spaces where there's SUPPOSED to be dots, but because of mzx's limits, there aren't. i'll make those empty spaces more appealing one way or the other later.

the purple are represeants dots that are there but shouldn't be.

and the brown dots (omg spoiler) represeants soon-to-be secret teleporters.

half edit i guess: why the hell can't we link to dynamic pages in the [IMG] tags?

real edit: zelda mzx is not dead school just doesn't let me mzx anymore. same with city limits 2 and raid (which you have yet to hear about)

Instead of dots being robots and running up against that limit, why don't you make them something like Coins or Gems, then just calculate the player's score based off of how many he's got?
