i know is to early to begin about christmas but this i think is an exceptation to the rule.
now i want this particular project to be an digital mzx game.
what i mean with that is getting as much members as possible to work on this project.(if enough just a single board per member thats in(or how manny (s)he wants)).

the game genre i'm thinking of an rpg without any words that sound like violance.
here are some examples:

for attack items : Gifts.
if you beat an enemy : (Input enemy name here) left with a smile on its face.
for expierience points : Friendlyness points.
for dungeons : Houses. ;)

i can't think of more right now but i hope this will tell enough to know the way want this to go.

for the main role i want Santa and for party members i want elves.

If youre in please tell.(and maybe give more deviolanceed names of things in the game, an title or plot(but thats optional :())

I think this would be interesting if it were done in a comedic fashion. There was some game.. I don't remember what it was... but at one point you had to brush your teeth, and it went into an rpg battle with a row of teeth, each tooth had 100 plaque points, and your brush did 20 to 50 damage... you had a mouth wash spell that would do 0 to 60 damage on all the teeth.

If you combine violence and antiviolence, does that make a big explosion?

Santa should be a boss (I mean a happylord) and you must stop him from giving you too much gifts because those need to go to the CHILDREN.

I don't know if i'm going to use it. but wich of santa's raindeer's do you mean?(need to know for behavior and such(or the nose color)).

that is an great idea i'l make an charecter selection at the start and if you choose someone else then you might need to remind him of the children that are waiting for their gifts .

We can't really help you making boards since we have no idea what you want the graphic style to be.

well here is a screenshot

Posted Image
this is the unfinished battle screen(wel technicly it is but really fighting it can't be called).
your party is to the left.
the chars from top to bottem:
Top: Rudolph the red nosed reindeer.
Below there: santa claus
The one below that: one of his elves(don't know wich elf though)
and below that: a still unnameed char.
and i'm not really happy with the colour of the arrow that tells the active char.

also i've made an anticheat engine that ends your game a soon you as you use a cheat with this message "Cheating = No fun = No play" ;)

and the board file goshi gave i found it good for a laugh but not really what i was looking for(might use it as an easteregg though.)

Keep up the work on this. Also I suggest that you make some kind of scenery during your battle scenes. The black background during battle scenes in Megazeux games are far to common.

I may of taken it to the extreme... but what I see is something like this:

Posted Image

If ever you need help with graphics i could help ja out! ;)

EDIT: see what happens when im bored within an hour >.<

... and by enemy map I assume you mean the enemy' path? When making your enemy an approach your player, I've always suggust making it snap quickly instead of a slow walk to towards the player. Perhaps make his cycle 1 and put no wait times inbetween his movements towwards the players. Its up to you!

here, have some Christmas chipsound goodness:
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
a classic. with some editing it might make a decent battle theme.
Silent Night
um, maybe town music? inn? anywhere peaceful, i guess...
Sing We Now of Christmas
not sure what you could use this for. maybe a boss or another battle theme?

all of these will take some editing (i.e. looping) if you want to use them. lemmee know what you'll use them for and i'll get them fixed right up for you. btw, good luck with this endeavour =)

I've always had difficulties making sure the enemies attacked only the characters that were still alive. Takes a bit of playing around with the code but i have faith in you my un-blood-possibly-older-than-I son.

EDIT: I appearently have difficulties typing too.

You can just use counters to detect that though so it really isn't to hard. As for doing the drawing its just a skill that you'll need to practice on. I can't really do it either so I just have someone else do that job for me >_> <_< >_>

Ya, I tested it out on my Mod Player (1.5 now with play/pause, autosave, and the option to change song frequency) engine and just set the frequency up to 52920 and it sounded pretty battley up to order 11 pos 720,when it slowed to much, and it sounds too weird.
<Nadir> mzxers don't make GAMES, usually
<phthalocyanine> they make experiences.
<Nadir> demos, more like
<Nadir> a glimpse into what could have been if mzx wasn't such a bore to work with
<Nadir> actually, i'm being unfair
<Nadir> i would have made mzx games if it was capable of running on more than 20 computers worldwide in 1998
<Nadir> >:D

<%Alice> functor
<%nooodl> i hear C++ has a thing called functors and they're completely different from Haskell functors...
<rorirover> the result is the most horrid thing in C++, it's basically black magic and it transforms any code you're writing into some eldritch monstrosity

I'll be glad to help you out merder. Though im generally busy with my own things, doing simple graphics like above won't take much out of my time.

Just tell me what you'd like and I'll be glad to produce some graphics for ya.

this i think i can use for 2 things most definantly in an in(santa needs to rest too :() but one thing i did'nt really like is the music tone itself(but it has some(enough) appeal though) if it wasn't for the standout background tone i could have used it for an minigame too(the second thing)

and goshi if you are willing to make anoher boardfile here's an idea "santa's workshop" or "the area outside the workshop" and if you use editted chars(char edit or not) please use an chr file(i don't want overwritten chars(i think you know why))
