Some more minor updates to Squirm Wars 2

5:53 AM 12/14/2005

Version 1.2

- Added Freeze Gun (Press F to shoot beam)
- Added Lazer Gun for Computer
- Modified Weapons Costs

The download for this update is the same link for the Squirm Wars 2 Download.

Currently in the process of recovering all my once lost mzx games. (hung over)

I love MZX, a lot of people look at it and say "oh, bad graphics" ect, but don't take the time to relize that they can make the graphics, or that you can do almost ANYTHING with this game ((I learned this after downloading Pornocreap, which was mildly humorous as I expected, OMGWTF, and the encylopedia. ANYTHING MAN!!!))
Welp, it's looking bad for me. I NEED PEOPLE TO HELP ME OUT HERE! RAWR!
BUT REMEBER-

I got a chance to play the Squirm Wars 2 demo! It looks neat, and blowing stuff up is, as usual, pretty fun. I really wish that there were some projectile weapons in the game, though. There were a couple of instances in which I was thinking, "I wish could lob a grenade down there..." Otherwise, it's pretty good, and I hope development on it continues.

Blood in Berlin sounds mad!!! Also gta mzx city and side draft should be good.
DONT STOP!!! :( ;)

Quoted from CHEZZY in another topic.

I'm actually working to complete Blood in Berlin and as well as side draft. GTA MZX City takes a lot of work since its a big game with a massive game engine that's very unstable at the momment.

For Blood in Berlin, which is a WWII game, I'm trying to make the game as serious as possible. Side daft on the other hand just requires my time to make levels for it.

My main focus right now is on my dmzx community cameo game and The Legend of Zelda: The Inquest. But once I get those two done, Blood in Berlin and Side Draft should be next to follow.

Got tons of projects and i hope to complete 90% of them.

Final Fantasy Aurora Project discontinued!

Posted Image

I've decided to discontinue my work on Final Fantasy Aurora, simply because it was just taking way too much time from my major MegaZeux projects: Blood in Berlin, Dragon Warrior and Tardnation -- Just to name a few.

Not every project sees the light of day; no matter how grand you may think it could have been at the time. Thankfully I didn't promote its production as much as my other projects, so its not a total tragic loss since the majority of you most likely didn't even know this project was under works.

EDIT:
For those of you who may be upset about the news, don't cry hardly-straight-seeming Justin Timberlake a river. I have plans to use a lot of what I had left behind for something... ELSE. ;) and no that's not a link. The usage of the game's carcass will for now be considered TOP SECRET! :(

Wow. Teabone, even with your abandoned projects, you leave behind these delicious graphics that I like to see. I think a major contribution you've made to this site are your pretty pictures =D

Of those four monsters in the upper image, I imagine the big green guy to be named "Smuffet," and certainly not Giant. That would be infinitely scarier.

Otherwise, that mushroom looks menacing as well. If it were me, I would walk up to it to hug it, finding myself vaporized in the process.

My jaw just dropped... looks absolutely gorgeous. You should highly consider going back to it after Dragon Warrior MZX comes out.

Roll Playing Games, i find, are incredibly hard to complete in MZX once you start making the graphics mega big. Designing all the levels and the world map + characters can take quite a deal of time -- not to mention all the programming that goes in between.

Dragon Warrior is coming along... slowly. Hopefully i don't dump it as well because I've been working on it for quite a number of years now. All that's really required to finish DW is the battle engine and the layouts of the caves and towns (plus all the conversation btw towns-people.)

Hey All! I just wanted to know what game of mine your most interested in seeing completed. I recovered a shit load of MZX projects recently, MOST of which have never been seen before to members of the DigiBoard community.

Due to my new busy life... its extremely hard to fit Megazeux within it. But i think if i focus on just ONE game... I could possibly complete it for its release to the community.

I'm thinking bout making a bunch of demos... not sure yet lol

EDIT: (im not drunk)

I'm interested in seeing Super Mario completed.
I rembember when I first saw the demo I was amazed at how good mario looked in mzx. If it was finished, it would probably be one of my favorite games for mzx ever.

The Super Mario for MegaZeux Project is very much alive and won't die. I have high hopes that you'll see the complete version soon! ( the definition of soon can vary from person to person ;) )

More projects discontinued:

Dark Craft RPG
This is too big of a project of which I'm no longer interested in completing. Its basically an RPG game that uses sprites from Star Craft.

Posted Image

The characters were all fully animated so it took quite long time making the animations. A project of which would most certainly take longer than my Super Mario project. I have another unfinished project that uses the characters of Star Craft. I may go back sometime and complete that one since its a basic 1x1 sidescroller.

Cursed Figments ( 2x2 version )
I've decided to leave this project behind since it would take far too long to design all the levels for it. I have a 1x1 version of it which I've been working on for several years now, though i haven't touched it in a long time. I may complete that version of this game.

I'm pretty sure I'm tossing that version of the game. I may however give the .chrs out for anyone who'd like to use em. I'll most likely continue the 1x1 version of Cursed Figments since it was one of the first MegaZeux games I've always dreamed of making.

Yet another project discontinued!

I started working on the graphics for Sonic 4 MZX but very quickly got bored of it. Back to Mario go!

If i do go back and make a demo for this game it will be long after Super Mario... but I really have no energy to work on a SONIC engine :p

Yeah....neat looking, but I really dunno how well Sonic would port to MZX. I'd think the blockiness and restrictions on speed would be kind of difficult to work with when you're going for something as fluid as Sonic is supposed to play.

Yeah, it wouldn't be very Sonic like. No Loopty-Loops or any type of slopes for that matter. Even if i did try to emulate it, it would like VERY choppy due to its blocky-ness, ya.

I've been dumping quite a lot of projects lately and well... here's another:

SIM Tower

I didn't just get bored of making this game I just figured the game it self would be boring so down the toilet it goes!

Some good news,

I finally fully understand sprites and vlayers! So now you can expect to see some of my projects finally completed. With a full understanding of the vlayer, I now have the ability to complete Super Mario for MZX and quite possibly even Grand Theft Auto: MegaZeux, if I decide to complete that game. You may even see a 2x2 Zelda game for MZX in the future!

EDIT:

I will be working on all unfinished projects in this order of importance (in groups):

1. Super Mario for MegaZeux
2. Squirm Wars 2
3. Side Draft
4. MegaZeux World
5. Tardnation
6. Jet Pack Man 2
7. Metal Rear: Solid
8. Blood in Berlin
9. Mario Party
10. The Legend of Zelda Inquest

I mean 2x1... because than it would be a square like in Zelda 1 for NES. But than again a 2x2 Link would be like Zelda 2... that side-scrolling one, which would be EASY to do, since I already got a 2x2 main character engine semi-complete.

Wow, for the last couple of days I've found myself staring at my MegaZeux editing window. I think I'm having MZX'ers block or I truly have lost my motivation for finishing anything. I have so many out-standing projects and I haven't been able to do a thing to them now. I hope my MZX drive hasn't died; It used to be on fire for years.
