CJA's Mansion no longer exists.

Instead, I am making a game called "S?samo." It is a sidescroller that revolves around sesame seeds and cashews.

Are you guys ever going to try for a real game?

In-jokes don't work outside select audiences. Really, your stuff just confuses the hell out of me.

There are no in-jokes in S?samo. What you see is what you get!

Also, this is probably one of the most "real" games I'll ever make.

If you like bothered reading the emF 3 thread at all you'd know that Lacuno died months ago.

Also, I don't feel like working on emF 3 at all anymore so until I do (which will be in approximately never) it's S?samo for me.

Also, I don't know who you think you are, but being around for all of a few hours is not your ticket to go around insulting people who've been around for years. It's not even just this thread, it looks like every single one of your posts is insulting someone.

I look forward to a non-cameod game from your team, which is what I'm hoping this will become... the problem with cameo games is that they're very quickly dated (yes I know, "dated" as applied to MZX sounds like an oxymoron). Communities quickly change their makeup; people leave; fads and jokes change... Play through some of the CANS games for instance, 95% of the people cameo'd don't use MZX anymore (and the others who do go by different names), and the humor makes no sense.

About the game, the title screen looks good so far.

Actually, the two main charecters are cameos (CJA and Guy), but that's it. They don't use any in-jokes either, so I guess it's still fine.

The green bar is HP, the blue bar is Mana. From left to right, the icons show lives, sesame seeds collected (like coins but not), salsa units collected (they don't do anything at all), and enemies beaten out of the total.

Also, the ground texture is trig!

No, really, I've been working on it, if only in short bursts (though recently I've picked up the pace and done a lot of things with it).

I just finished the gun engine. Actually, I stole the gun engine from our unfinished DOZ entry and modified it slightly but it works!

Also, there's something else: Remember how in the long-dead emF -1/0, there were going to be different elements the player could use, which gave him element-specific weapons? No, of course you don't, but that's what I'm doing in S?samo now. You find "element platforms" throughout the levels, which you press TAB while standing on to switch your element. At the start of a level, you don't have any element equipped.

The elements are ice, fire, and lightning. Ice is good against fire, fire is good against lightning, and lightning is good against ice. The weapon for ice is like a hose, but with snow. It shoots up from the player, arcs, and falls down and lands on the ground. How high it shoots is based on how much mana you have left. The fire weapon is, of course, a flamethrower. The flamethrower is what you'd expect it to be, but the range gets smaller as your mana depletes. The lightning weapon emits a field of electricity around the player-- great if you've got a lot of enemies swarming around you. The range of the field, of course, gets smaller the less mana you have.

Also, you can exchange mana for HP my holding ALT. You press CTRL to fire your element-specific weapon.

In addition, hidden throughout the game are non-element-specific weapons which you can fire by pressing their keys (Z-V).

Well, as of like a week ago I guess, Sesamo is dead. I accidentally overwrote the save file and all the backups have the overwritten version. This also brings about some changes in emF 3; read the post I'm about to make in that topic.
