I'm working on a Half-Life game for mzx. This is how much I've completed so far:

Most of the char set.
Start board (rebel hideaway)
About half of the second board (town)
Civil Protection (enemy)
Title Screen

These will be the included weapons:
Crowbar
Pistol
Smg
Shotgun
Pulse Rifle
Gravity Gun
Rocket Launcher

Included enemies:
Civil Protection
Headcrab
Headcrab Zombie
Madhacks

And of course there will be more, I haven't stopped planning things, but I'm working while I'm planning.

Neat! How is this fitting into the whole Half-Life mythos, if at all? (please don't make us play as Gordon Freeman)

You should star as a Headcrab and Gordon should be the bad guy.

I need to play the rest of Half-Life 2 sometime.

Of course you are Gordon Freeman! He's the only guy that fits the hazard suit.
The game is a lot like Half-life 2's story, slightly tweaked. You start off in a rebel hideaway, not the train. You go through the sewers of ravenholm, not ravenholm itself. Alyx comes in very late in the game. Of course there will be a lot of other story changes, when the time comes. I'm just going with the half-life flow.

I'm also using a few selected tracks from Half-life 2's official soundtrack. Just so you know, all music in this game is from half-life 2, and valve takes full credit in the production of the tracks. I mean, why make your own tracks when they're already there? That would just waste time.

But Gordon Freeman is kickass in his glasses. BUT WAIT. Make a scene where he loses his glasses and now you have to play through a level but you can't see things as good. That would be fun :p

Edit:Hooray for HEV suit. If you can make a AUX Power so it's used for mr flash mr oxygen and mr sprint. Oh and make sure Gordon Freeman is quiet and not like "OSHNAP!"

New mr Freeman. With glasses. Hope you're happy with it, cos I'm not editing it again.
Oh, and when he is in the HEV suit, he takes his glasses off, okay? (because of char editing space)

It's good....but umm can't you just make him orange when the HEV suit magically apears on him? Or do you already know how it's gonna look?

I've already drawn the char for the hazard suit, and it's peachy.
And, Goshi, I'm afraid this is mzx, and while an FPS would be nice, it would be much easier to make (and play) in regular mzx view.

I wish you luck; you've got a lot to live up to with this.
Blaugh!
Serious damage to important body parts pretty much ruins any plans you had for living. Bummer.

Never fear, I'm actually working on it right now as I read your feedback. It's also much easier to work on a mzx version of another game because it's pretty much half planned at the start.

btw, I just finished the town.

AHA! I've modified the Hazard Suit so Gordon can wear his cursed spectacles with it. I've also done some work on Dr. Kleiner's homey little lab.

You could be showered with fame and fortune. Since there isn't really that many FPS games.

:p I've tried many times to make an mzx 3d engine, and I've only succeeded twice. The one with the biggest viewport was pretty good, 4 block view distance and 90 degree turning. The smallest one had a very small viewport, low view distance but had the advantage of 8 directional turning system. Both didn't support weapons, and only allowed for about 6 different objects, none of which were 3d but 2d blocks placed in a close row to try to symbolise a wall. So, while I may be praised for doing a 3d game, it would be a rather plain and limiting one, much like the original 3d mzx labrinth engine. Even that had diagonal walls.

And besides, half-life is already 3d. I want to see if it's possible to show the freeman's adventures not through the eyes of Gordon.

So in conclusion, if you want a 3d half-life, go play half-life. :D
