Just wanted to say hi to all the new people around here. That Mel Gibson game sounds awesome, that's definitely something I would play.

He's right, you know. MZXers never leave, they just fade away or get banned by the admins. If you actually try and leave you'll fail miserably.

That said, welcome to the community.

Hi there, I'm Kom. (and that's not pronounced 'comb,' which some people seem to get confused about. It's really pronounced like .com, ok?) Iv'e never really done much on the internet before, mostly due to extremely reactive parents, so this is like a major step for me. I still only have a very limited amount of time on the internet and I am unable to do very much while online. The main reason that I have joined is because I have really wanted to get my games out there. Before I joined, though, I went right to this site almost whenever I could, and looked around or downloaded other people's games. I've used MegaZeux for months even though I have just joined. I have also programmed in a few other languages before finding out about MegaZeux. I've been programming engines and games, (only for myself and close friends), for quite a while. Unfortunately, I can't really make anything in the way of music, and the graphics that I've created for my games have been pretty bad up untuil a while ago. I really look forward to being in this community.

Kom sounds exactly like me two years ago. Except I started out releasing a game and never introduced myself :[

You may or may not be surprised to know that most of the activity in MegaZeux is done by people that are probably around your age. I'm 16, but there are 13 year old MZXers here, counting the coherent ones. Asiekierka's, what, 10? So, yep.

Most if not all of the administration is older though. Haha, I never noticed that this is why we may think we have a "stuffy" administration; we're all young, they're all old, it's natural.

Also, I'd recommend noting these few things; nothing personal, but everyone seems to ask them at one time or another:
  • Any type of music file with over 12 characters will play initially but not after you test or reload.
  • Convert big music files (and everything, if you wish) from WAV to OGG to save space.
  • Don't hesitate posting something unless it directly offends someone.
  • Detecting sarcasm is an integral part of talking in this community. Be wary of posts (Lancer-X's specifically) for they may be sarcastic jabs disguised as bland posts.

Need a dispenser here.

it's because of people like you that nobody takes me seriously in this community. i'm actually a lot less sarcastic than a lot of people here.

I am actually quite surprised CJA. I figured most of the people here would all be adults. Based on the Emf series, and a few of your other posts, I always thought that you'd be, like, 20-something. I guess I'll have to begin seeing things here from a different perspective.

Haha nice sarcasm there Lancer

No, kidding. But seriously:

Zamros is very sarcastic, I'll tell you that! In fact, usually he doesn't post here unless he has something sarcastic to add.

Also, Guy is sarcastic. But mostly that's things starting with "I love how..." in cases when he actually doesn't "love how...".

Finally, there are people like asgromo who are sarcastic when they don't have much to add to threads. They are not sarcastic when they have something good to say, however! And asgromo has a lot of something good to say.

Well you wouldn't really be able to tell CJA's age from the emF series considering I'm the one who wrote it ;_;. Also, I am 14.

Anyway, welcome aboard and whatnot. CJA's already said most of the stuff I would have said were I not busy sleeping or correcting people's grammar.

Also, you should be wary when reading a post by CJA or I. It will usually contain one or more of the terms or phrases "(hot, steamy) maggots," "cod," or "grits," or the characters ? or ? (upper- and lower-case eths, respectively) in place of random nouns or seemingly randomly taped onto inappropriate spots. You will usually have to refer to the context to understand what we mean.

Geez, don't get all worked up. I know that you made the emF series. (I actually read the credits, surprise, surprise) It's just that the way you act and the things that you do in the game seem like they would be done by someone a little older. Oh well. I also am surprised by the fact that there are people out there, that are my age, that do things similar that I do. (Being in a bad school full of failing people who couldn't tell the difference between a noun an a peanut butter and jelly sandwich kind of has that type of effect on you, ya know?) (I really had to get that out of my system, whew...)

It's quite similar in Uni, too. Sure, people are generally smarter, but they also think that they're a lot cleverer than they are.

They then get bad results on assignments and exams, and they've no idea why, so they figure it must be the Uni's fault. Never mind that people who actually knew what they were doing did fine on the assignment in question, it's the UNI's fault.

This thread, much like the rest of the boards, is oooozing with sarcasm. Do be wary, as the warnings have given. We've had several incidents where people didn't realize somebody was being sarcastic, and then they said some things they shouldn't have and things got ugly.

Anyway, I noticed from your profile you're from Florida. It's always nice to see another Floridian here. Selan_p and frankjr are up in Tallahassee, asgromo's near Jacksonville/St. Augustine, I'm over in Gainesville. Now I know this is one of your first outings into the internet and you have overprotective parents, so I won't ask what city you live in, but can you at least say what part of Florida you live in (like south, central, northwest, etc)? Just curious.

I live near orlando, I can tell you that. I usually don't use my computer at home, but a public computer or one at school. (luckily I have a teacher that is nice enough to let me use one of her classroom compuetrs. So i can say pretty much whatever I want without my parents finding out.) However, I didn't know that there were really that many people near me who used digitalmzx.
