I'm having a problem with resetview. It centers the screen on the player but doesn't get rid of lockscroll.

Now what we REALLY need is unlockplayer attack
This is for games that let the player switch back/forth between MZX bullets and other weapons and can't be bothered to have it unlockplayer when they switch weapons and potentially break things.
In fact the game I'm working on right now needs it.

mzx doesn't need it, because you can just call additional lockplayer instructions after the unlockplayer instruction.
honestly, nobody's going to add a command that can be duplicated in functionality by calling two commands instead

then why did they create the lockplayer command itself?

Because it's useful, and you can't duplicate its functionality perfectly with a couple of other commands.
