This will be the sequel to Random Maze Game, that thing I released awhile back. Nothing too ambitious. Basically I'm going to generate a) a world b) some dungeons c) some towns. There will probably be some sort of contrived plot. Expect typical-ish MZX action with some RPG elements.
Basically, I'm too lazy to make a game all planned out, including dungeons and whatnot. Like all those cleverly planned Zelda dungeons. I'm not so much for that. However I do like making a game that makes itself, sort of. Here is a link to a huge screen of a previously generated world that didn't have anything else placed on it.
Huge Honkin' Worldmap without any Frills
I'll make sure to keep y'all posted. Shout-outs to Hoof Noah, Insid, gromo and CJA and Guy for inspiration. Expect a screen with more frills (but not as big a screen) soon, as in tomorrow.
edit: Forgot to credit Hoof; I stole my topic description from him basically

I'll post it once I get a couple of 'frills' in. Like house placement and whatnot.

You're welcome to use my map generator if you want a really nice clean random map!
It's really flexible, you can have it make a nice topographical map like shown below, or a more basic land/water map like you have up there. It can generate maps in any size, by default they are wrap around compliant. The great thing is you can change a given random map's water level and aperture on the fly. Wraparound compliance can easily be circumvented to generate more of a static continent surrounded by water if thats what you prefer.
Example:

actual mzm of the map:

I appreciate the offer, but I want this to be my own creation. Thanks much anyway though, Ohki. Hopefully you can find someplace to use that.

Here's the next image:
Huge Honkin' Worldmap with some frills
This one has a big town, several small houses and dungeons placed. I should develop a system for making sure houses/dungeons don't get placed where they're blocking or blocked by anything (I'm not in need of suggestions on that, I pretty much already know how I'm going to do it.)

lol, Minimize, but anyway, this looks pretty neat! Are you coming up with your own algorithms or converting someone else's into MZX?
