HiGH
I made a movement system with controllable speed and collision for the 2x3 characters. I am pleased with it ^^ I chose some good stuff for the soundtrack, and I'm working on message boxes right now.

Finally started making content for the sequel to the DoZ entry western_civ. The battles are going to retain the number punching, but with a little bit of twist. The numbers in the quick draw will line up from a deck of cards (fully customizable), and you have to enter the string within a time limit. So far there are four different decks that you can collect from, each one ranked with a separate level of quality. Old, torn cards take longer to shuffle and don't get bonuses, while brand new cards will keep you on the edge of each battle. I'll get some screenshots or a demo up in a while.

That's the best MZX sprite design ever. Make sure you don't run out of char set space though.

Really? Thanks, if I start to run out, I'll use the char edit command like crazy. :<

detail of new battle sprite style

Before I make the story events and whatever, I plan on finishing the battle engine. Right now it has some of the graphics but none of the coding. -_-; Might be worth a little attention that the characters in battle will have 5x4 sprites instead of the 1x1 that the prequel had.

Here's a little concept of each card in a deck- shown with varying levels of abuse. Old cards hinder you in gunfights and brand new ones are impossible to find :b There will be a fully customizable player deck in the game.. when I get around to it.

That looks good, but it is a little hard to distinguish between varying levels of damage between the cards.

Okay, then I'll make it more noticeable.

afkHideki's use of multiple colors in one sprite really reminds me of those old ZX Spectrum games.

As for the cards: I'd change "worn" to "normal" and just let them look undamaged, leave the "ragged" ones as they are and change numbers 4-9 the "torn" row to be more like 1-3.

There's actually a set that's not shown in that screenshot. It's called "pristine" and has no scratches on it. Plus.. when I took that pic the 4-9 weren't done being edited. D: So those are fixed problems, now.

Sorry, I didn't know.

On a side note, pristine is a funny word. :D

Small update- I'm not dead D:

Not much in actual MZX progress right now. I've been messing with HTML and CSS for a few days. I haven't come up with much content yet, but I'm trying .___. If you wanna check out the design so far, check it out .
