TRAILER
(Domestic scene with a blond man and his brunette wife) Calvin was an ordinary man with a great job and a wonderful wife.

(Cut to scene of a slightly creepy looking house) Then an tragic accident took the life of his parents and left him with his childhood home.

(Cut to various scenes of the house, doors, and the couple looking creeped out or worried) There, he discovered that some secrets should be left to the past. Some doors should not be opened.

(Cut to scene of Calvin opening a toy chest and finding a toy stuffed tiger) And some things are best forgotten. (Calvin: "I haven't seen this thing in years...")

(Cut to a scene of Calvin looking at snowman in his yard. The snowmen are contorted into tortured poses. Some of them are bloody and a few seem to holding what looks like meat or organs)

Now he must face his lost dreams... (Cut to a prehistoric forest scene complete with pteradactyls flying in the sky. Calvin stands in the foreground looking completely dumbfounded)

and confront the worst nightmare of his childhood. (Cut to a scene of a huge, furry, bipedal, and bestial silhouette with horrible claws standing in a door of the house. The silhouette screams "CALVIIIINNNN!" in a monstrous voice)

HOBBES

I'm not sure if I'm going to make this as a typical game or as a kind of semi-interactive movie. Or maybe I'll make it into a comic. Or maybe I just won't make/finish it. Who knows?!

Decisions have been made. The game will be a graphical adventure game using static first person shots. Sort of like a visual novel with adventure game controls. It will have j-rpg style battles against the horrors of Calvin's imagination.

Today, I went to library to research my ancestors again. I found a small newspaper article that mentioned my great great grandfather. It's about the tornado that destroyed a lot of the town in 1869. It mentions that his barn was knocked over and the house sustained some damage. My great great grandparents were fine because they hid in the basement. Our house has a basement?

Calvin's in his room talking to 'Hobbes' again. I don't know how he does that voice. Maybe he'll be a comedian or an actor someday. He's definitely obnoxious enough for the former.

I like where this is going. The interface you describe kind of makes me think of Snatcher - and that's a good thing.
Blaugh!
Serious damage to important body parts pretty much ruins any plans you had for living. Bummer.

I can't tell if this is intended to be horror or just really, really dark comedy--but I like it!
