It's just like all other LoZ Games; You start as a boy like all others untill you hear you are 'The Chosen One'.
Although I Haven't thought of a plot yet, I've mainly been working on the game engine, containing the hearts system, the 'Advanced Sword Engine',
and much more stuff you expect to see in a LoZ game.
Right now i'm working on a new way of saving in mzx. with this you CAN'T load the game from any other game, you DON'T need to press F3 anymore to save, but best of all... It only works in this LoZ Game!
Screenshots are coming soon.

I'll keep it in mind when making the levels. (with levels, i mean places, temples, and other stuff.)
I'm done testing the save system and now fully focusing on the file selection screen. There will be a total of 3 save files. Erase and copy options will (probably) be available. Also there will be settings (like autosave) for each save file which you can change.

THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE AMAZING!
A Mario game by SmartRutter(simply Mario MZX),
A Legend of Zelda game by you(The Legend of Zelda and the Mirror Temple),
but there is a TRIO of Nintendo characters, not a duo.
I plan to make a Metroid game(Metroid Dread)!
Once we both finish, the trio will be complete!

Try making an fps (First person shooter), like 'Metroid Prime Hunters' for the nintendo DS. If you can't, then just make it awesome in many other ways!
Anyway, i'm close to done with the menu and am thinking of a plot. (man that took a heck of a time(probably cuz i'm just lazy... ))
i thought i promised i should post some screenshots soon
here is the main menu:

It may look boring, but it isn't; it uses smooth highlight move, realy, realy smooth file selection animation, and has a glowing background, just to make it appear not to be 'frozen'. Hope u like it.
EDIT: man, i make far too many type mistakes.... probably cuz i'm dutch(The Netherlands/Holland) and am just 13... hehe...

Eew, why would he do that? The FPS Metroids are really bad compared to the 2D sidescroller ones... especially Metroid Prime Hunters.

hey, you just made me notice, what is up with Nintendo and giving misleading game titles that make you mistake the player's name
i thought "Link" was named, like, "Zelda," for forever

this is just in case the save file has been corrupted, a save block is invalid, or if you just wanna play without using a save file. (i'm NOT responsible for the first two things. If these happen, it's probably because you changed the save file for any stupid reason, or stopped the game while saving.)
I also added a bootup file that checks if your save file even exists, is corrupted, or a block is invalid. if one of these is the case, it will ask to reset the file, or if just one block is invalid, it will erase that block. If everything's just fine with the save file, it continues to the game.

i always plan on making a "never use file access" counter that can be set so that any file I/O can be skipped
of course the irony is that the "never use file access" counter would be read from the file

NOTE: I will post any progress of this project starting with 'UPDATE:'. With this i mean update of progress.
PS: I found a way to write overlay to the board, which i need for writing the player names in the file boxes.

I mean, but wait, aren't the chances of corruption extremely slim, unless the file is saved wrong

Also, there's something i wanna tell about this:
Quote
I'll include no file at all in the zip when the game is finished. Why? Because the Bootup file, which has recently been changed to a safe file checker, will *make* one as it figures out the save file doesn't exist, And it just wipes the file clean and refill it if it is corrupted (It will ask for permission to do this).

<@Tixus> Anyway, I set the year to 1988 for some reason.
<@Tixus> And set the microwave to run for a minute and 28 seconds.
<@Tixus> But it failed to send me back in time, and I was disappointed.
<Insidious> Tixus accidentally microwaved the 80s
<Insidious> that is my takeaway from this
