This time, this game will be ENTIRELY ORIGINAL. Nothing will be ripped from other peoples MZX games. Heres a screen shot of the title screen I've designed.

Speaking of that, wasn't T-Bone making a Mega Man MZX game?

T-Bone is probably working on making a version of just about every NES game for MZX.

Giel, I'm looking forward to see what this game turns out to be.

Got the select screen done up.

Here is what it looks like before you beat any of Roton's 6 commandos:

And this is what it looks like after you beat all 6 of them:

I understand and admire that your inspiration is from Mega Man, since that is a great franchise to get ideas from.

However, your inspiration is way too obvious for me to take this game seriously. Judging by the way it looks now, I bet if I played it, it would just make me want to stop and go play Mega Man.

If you want it to be a little more original, start by changing around your colors, among other things. Don't make your title and stage select screens the same exact colors from Mega Man. Add some of your own style to the game instead of making a blatant copy of another game but just changing around the characters. Trust me: you will thank yourself later for it.

I think this is going to end up pretty disappointing, for as much as you manage to decently mimic the title screen and stage select screen I'm certain that you won't get anywhere close with the actual gameplay

So? Who cares where they ended up? The question is, where are your games gonna end up?

I'm fairly certain he won't be able to even achieve a smooth menu engine for that screen.

I wouldn't use the worlds "entirely original". Because its not. Even if your comparing it to other MegaZeux games out there... there are Mega-Man like MZX games.

I'm just interested in seeing how the gameplay goes... not too interested in title screens and menus. Once you get to that point, I might show some more interest.

I just downloaded Gemini's G-Stockpile, and i have all three depliX's. I started playing Gemini's "Space Evacuation", and the first thing going through my mind was: "What the heck? This is EXACTLY the same as delphiX2!". After that, i played "Space Evacuation 2", and this time, this was going through my mind: "What the heck? This is NEARLY the same as delphiX3, but with no bugs in it!"

Now i'm seeing CR2-0, and i read:

I thought: "FINALLY!!! Finally he's Making games trusting his own inspiration!"

But then Guy showed up, with the Rockman title screen.

With this little story i want to inform you that you could actually make games yourself, and without ripping, or even entirely using other games. It all starts with inspiration. then follows the game idea, creating a new mzx file and then designing and programming. Try it, it's not that hard to make actually new stuff.

I hope you learned something from this.

I've spent more time on making games that are unoriginal.. but i don't claim them as being original.

Yes, yes, I'm sure that, to you, there is a world of difference between creating a title screen and level select menu that happens to be a crude approximation of Rockman's and creating "The Legend Of Zelda, The Mirror Temple", but to me there isn't all that much =p

I've never seen a Mirror Temple somewhere around Nintendo before, and btw, with this story i mean you do not have to entirely copy the game from an other Mzx game, or making an exact sample of an already existing game, like CR2-0 and Rockman here. Oh, here's another thing, there are loads of LoZ games already, and none of them are the same as another in any way. Even now there are 2 in production, and the production of LoZ games'll maybe never end expanding the serie.

You're missing the point. My point was that you're both creating games based on highly successful trademarks. While I'm not COMPLAINING about it (although, if you must know, I do consider it highly unoriginal) I do find it pretty amusing that you're calling him off for being unoriginal with this rockman-inspired game. Pot, kettle etc.

Oh well... at least i'm now happy thet Giel has nothing to rip from the DMZX archive now, and is actually making a game himself.

Good point, Lancer.

Dude, shut up. Go and make some Lolz games...

Giel: even though you had a rough start in the mzx community, still it's great that you keep making games with such passion. There are two reasons why i want to play this game. The first reason being i want to see how your mzx skills have improved and the second one is if you are trying to treat us as morons and try to slip parts of other games in the mix and hope that we won't notice.

but srsly, good luck.

THERE IS NO ORIGINALITY LEFT IN THE WORLD. You can only sneakily manipulate already-existing elements in order to create something that communicates what you want to communicate. This is the closest you can get to originality, and if you do it well, people will enjoy what you create. I think. Okay, maybe. That being said, good luck, dude!
