dMZX Forums: CR2-0 Final Release - dMZX Forums

Message from the Management

When you finish a new game, demo, engine, or utility, the first thing to do is submit it to the archive for approval. (Log in first, then Upload a New Game from the sidebar.) Then feel free to post about it in this forum; in fact, please continue to do this. This is so people will actually know about your game and play it. As nice as it is to have archive uploads automated, it's not going to help much if no one knows you have a new game to play.

When uploading your games to the archive, please zip up your game using the .ZIP format, even if it is just a .MZX file. As for less popular formats (such as RAR and 7Z), games uploaded in these formats will be rejected. This is because as wonderful as those compression algorithms might be, ZIP is a near universal compression standard, and the only one that will work with the in-game archive browser planned for MZX.

You can also attach your game to a new thread in this forum. In this case, you can use whatever compression format you find suitable. NOTE: Games posted this way won't be put into the archive unless submitted to the archive proper, or unless the author states he/she wants the game in.

Lastly, we suggest you post a suitable screenshot of your submission (in PNG format) along with the game.

OK, I "Let's Play"-d this, but the sound needs to be resynced as it's all chopped and stuff.
Next time, I'm using Audacity to do the audio recording... or something other than recordmydesktop as the sound side of it appears to SUCK on this laptop.

If anyone can recommend a good video editor for Linux (read: NOT LiVES), then please do, because I'll need to get it in sync if I'm to release it - I'm not keen to LP this again (ARGH STUPID STAIRS + SEEKERS - DON'T EVER USE SEEKERS THEY SHOULD JUST BE REMOVED FROM THE CODE - also those are really nasty rockets considering that explosions only do 1 damage and you have 1000 health, whereas a rocket takes away about 300... unless it explodes)

You could try OpenShot or PiTiVi.

Thanks a lot for that, Revvy. I'm using PiTiVi.

Unfortunately, the audio is so badly damaged that it's incredibly difficult to sync the audio, so I've decided to overdub. The first recording has been overdubbed.
I might upload the original audio at some stage, as there's some gems in there... I think.

I just noticed something. CR2-0 has no download link in the Vault. How'd that happen?

As for the game itself: Meh. I managed to finish it without saving, but I don't wanna play it again after that.

I wonder when Giel will grace us with his next MZX masterpiece...?

Wow, that's strange. Also, I could have sworn I wrote a CR2-0 review. <_<

This sort of stuff has happened periodically with different games, and the only person who could tell us why stopped working on the website. I asked for access to Vault's code but nobody ever got back to me.

EDIT: Oh wait, I see what you mean. There literally is no download link =|

I assumed you meant it wasn't in the archive or something >_>;;;

I see A-Guymzx lurking occasionally, but I don't think he's posted in a while. Who knows what happened to the remake :<

Just where did you upload the videos for this?

I've stumbled across some problems while making a new engine, and I've been reeeaaaly inactive lately. Guess i should get working on this remake of mine again, instead of letting it rot away with the rest of my projects

Well, if you post about your problems in Robotic Talk, I think the chances that one of the admins, Lancer, I, or somebody else can help you are pretty good. :)

Well, it's not really a 'problem', it's just that I broke my new engine while I were trying to make it more efficient. Just needs some fixin', and it's all ready to go, once again :pirate:
