Just post here if you worked on a project today that either doesn't have its own journal thread, doesn't, in your eyes, deserve one, or just if you want a place to say "hey I did something today on my MZX project." Feel free to be vague about progress (e.g. "I completed a small component of a minor engine") if the project is secretive or you're worried about it getting killed by publicity. It's mostly intended for smaller projects or things whose updates would otherwise be kept pretty much to IRC, but if the thing has a journal and you just want to say HEY I DID STUFF TODAY then feel free. We'll see if any of you decide to use it with me.
So I'll start.
Today I gave the player the ability to attack and kill enemies in Math: The Roguelike, gave enemies the ability to attack the player, and did some menu stuff.

I procrastinated putting in the tutorial (one of the last things left to do before the game is finished) and instead polished the corners of every board in unoticable ways.
original soundtracks
Better Than Nothing - DOMINATION - Commander Keen: Heroes Lost - Welkin - A Confectioner's Recipe - random ThDPro music stuff
<Risu21121> if you're not going to make a good game, you might as well make a blatantly racist one.
<Kuddy> Testicles.

Ive done an incredible amount of work on the Super Mario game that I have been working on for about a decade now. Fixed most of the problems that have been preventing me to really push this game forward towards completion. Currently all sprites collide with other sprites by a cycle of checks if they are moving towards each other. This is a behaviour unlike true Mario games, whereas collisions with sprites (not blocks) occur when they overlap another. So basically my sprites check if they will collide whereas it should be checking if they are colliding. I don't think I'll make this switch for this build I'm working with right now, since it may take another couple of years to implement.
So right now I'm working fast to get this build working as smooth as possible so I can put it up soon for live testing.
