I really want to know what people think, here. I've heard a lot of commotion about the "blinding" colors on the forum, so I'd suppose "SKIN" will be right up there.

Anything else? Vent away...

First vote and a useless one at that!

Honestly, I think you've done a bang up job, but what do I know, I don't come round these parts very often anymore.

Just the color scheme and skins in general. Having members the ability to pick their own personal skin and color scheme would remedy that problem quite easily though.

I'd love for more people to join the Development Team to come up with new skins; I've been spending my time in the code portion and I'd rather have someone or a group of people to look to for CSS. If you'd like to help out, you're welcome to.

We could probably use some more creative events regarding MZX to encourage more participation from the community, and to welcome some new people as well.

The only part I hate about the color scheme is the parts where it uses white and very light blue in the forums. It seems kind of tacky among the the greens, blues, and yellows, not to mention the internet is a sea full of white anyway. I liked the ambient blues of the forums.

How hard would it be to allow a customizable color scheme. Also, boring. Is it because the school year's almost over?

I mean, the skin, I guess, but more importantly the continued almost total discreteness to the parts of digitalmzx.net (no portal right now, sure, but also no truly consistent navigation between them). This is an easy thing to fix that makes the theoretical new visitor less terrified and the regular user more likely to actually make use of places besides the forum.

I think it's very important that somebody besides MZXGiant show their face as Really Working On DigitalMZX. CJA could, for example, if he wants to be Such A Man. Assuming a fairly just world, my suggestion is this: stop taking polls (which amount to picking your website pieces out a hat and crossing your fingers) and start cooperating with a cabal of clearly talented, probably responsible people (not just whoever volunteers, but someone you would actually ask for help).

I am not skilled.

I am not uber-talented.

But I'll throw my hat in if Giant thinks there's something I can do.

I'd even be willing to do some skinning (if someone's not already on a skin that's more like the Vault, or classic dMZX, I could get on that even, if you could give me an example...at least, if you're using CSS. It's really all I've got experience with.

The only other thing I could really do as far as things one commits to would be to work on standardizing Wiki articles, especially fixing the fact that ridiculous numbers of MZXer pages are userpages still and/or redirect to those when they really ought to be something far more neutral.

The #1 thing that SUCKS from what I can tell right now is the search flood control. 30 seconds between each search is really silly. It's possibly the best way to access older posts when your mouse isn't working at the time (e.g. now). It took me about 4 or 5 searches, and the flood control yelled at me between every gap, every time.

Also, if you want to be nicer with people who don't always have their mouse working (e.g. me), I suggest you try to only use buttons when necessary (submitting a form - I think you may have done this already), and actually have proper "next" and "previous" links instead of forcing me to learn unicode. There are a LOT of 2s on the average page, y'know.

At least I can tab to the buttons.

as everyone else has mentioned, the skin. how difficult is it to make a new skin for ipb3? i'll volunteer what time i have towards it if you want.

also the message system. more specifically, the 100PM limit. if we have sufficient space (which i believe we do,) it'd be nice to bump this up. i suppose i really should go delete my old messages, but i prefer archiving to deleting.
<Tox> bah. I may as well give in and shop australia. D:
<pyro1588> "welcome to australia, can i help you find what you're looking for?"
<Tox> pyro1588, I'm giving you the most reproachful of glares right now.

Isn't there some shitty ass way to use the numpad as a mouse greaser? Mousekeys comes to mind...
<Nadir> mzxers don't make GAMES, usually
<phthalocyanine> they make experiences.
<Nadir> demos, more like
<Nadir> a glimpse into what could have been if mzx wasn't such a bore to work with
<Nadir> actually, i'm being unfair
<Nadir> i would have made mzx games if it was capable of running on more than 20 computers worldwide in 1998

<%Alice> functor
<%nooodl> i hear C++ has a thing called functors and they're completely different from Haskell functors...
<rorirover> the result is the most horrid thing in C++, it's basically black magic and it transforms any code you're writing into some eldritch monstrosity

The skin and colors, mostly, though I slapped down a vote in Community Participation for good measure. Also, go back to musical theater plzkthx (I jest)

If you're on Windows 7, you can tell it where on the screen to click the mouse using voice recognition.

Also my only complaint is the Wiki.

I only chose the lack of events, because everything else is just insignificant when you think about the lack of events. There's never been a good way to organize BKZXes.
Need a dispenser here.
