Alright, this is officially my process of my first game to be posted to the DigitalMZX community!

It's going to be a short action-adventure game which will take estimatedly 15-30 minutes to beat I believe (maybe a little more if I feel even more enthusiastic about making the game). However, I do not have a name for it, however I will think of some ideas though. It's going to be on MZX 1.00g, yes I know this is going to be a little over-rated but I wanted to do it for nostalgia's sake. It will have 5 .MODs made by me...those I came up with the names. They are named (in alphabetical order): BOSS.MOD, DAY.MOD, NIGHT.MOD, POPCORN.MOD, SPACE.MOD. Yes as one of the title indicates, I will do a cover of Popcorn by Gershon Kingsley (1969), but more like the Hot Butter version from three years later. I have started brainstorming ideas for this game since December 7, 2011 and have finished NIGHT.MOD of this game. =D Surprisingly, I haven't started on making the actual game for it yet though but I will get to it tomorrow and probably give you some decent screenshots on Monday. =D I might make this game say it's from 1995 or 1996, but I haven't came up with the date yet. XD (Sorry, I'm just too hyper for time-warping ever since I was a little kid!)

For those who want to hear the "NIGHT.MOD" here it is:

I think the name "POPCORN.MOD" is already taken, you need to name it something else

edit: No AURORA.MOD or FF5GILG.GDM?

Yeah, there are several MOD versions of POPCORN floating around.

If you're using all original music, I would suggest putting some sort of prefix on your MODs (sort of like the original MegaZeux worlds have -- i.e. CV_BALON).

Oh joy, more POPCORN.MOD. I've already had my fill of that song from Talon's Tale.

Ok you guys, I guess if I ain't suggested to do a cover of Popcorn, I'll probably do a cover of Sweet Dreams and call it "EURYTHM.MOD".

And as in prefix on my MODs Spectere, what do you mean? I do know the word prefix though.

But still, what did you think of my NIGHT.MOD? XD

I'm not prepared to criticize music. It was... good??? It was surprising, anyway. Spectere meant that you can prefix the title of your mod in the filename, so in his example, instead of "BALON.MOD", it's "CV_BALON.MOD", because it's specific to that game, CaVerns. You could title your cover "BSA_POPCORN.MOD" No, it isn't 8.3, but this is 2011 :(

Oh yeah those prefixes, in the directory title! However thanks for your comment on my NIGHT.MOD though, I really appreciate it. =D However, I noticed that most custom MODs for custom MZX worlds don't have prefixes for some reason. o.o Dunno why.

But yeah, I feel like doing Sweet Dreams instead of Popcorn still, maybe I'll do Popcorn another game under a different directory title like you said. =D

I know it is 2011, when I finish the game I'll say the ACTUAL working dates like for example: This game was actually finished in December 31 2011, development of this game has started in December 4 2011 under the thread of the finished game which will be under the screenshots. =P

The NIGHT.MOD file didn't work for me, I'm sorry to say. OpenMPT couldn't open it, and when I put it on an MZX board in MZX 2.83, it was just silence.

Maybe I gave out the MP3 version and you clicked download that could be why. Sorry about that, Zappman.

OK here's the .MOD file:

Just out of curiosity, why are you making this in 1.00g? I feel like there's some concept I'm missing here...

That latest file worked! Very classic and nostalgic sound... which is what you were aiming for, I imagine :(

BASKET.MOD? I think I'll replace it with Sweet Dreams. Is BASKET.MOD a song I'll create or is it going to be a cover song I should do, lol. :( If it is a song I should create, do you have any ideas on what it should sound like because I'm out of ideas for a song with that name.

Here's DAY.MOD if you wanted a listen: http://www.mediafire...9qw75fkq7rj67vj

By the way, thank you Exophase for your comments on my music. =D

BASKET.MOD is a cover of Basket Case, by Green Day. The Green Day album, Dookie, which contained this single came out in late 1994, so it was used by quite a MegaZeux games from around that time.

Edit: A cover MOD of When I Come Around, off of the same album, was also popular. I don't remember the filename off the top of my head, though.

I've heard Basket Case before! I also heard BASKET.MOD before once on a MegaZeux game that Goshi made, I forgot which one though but yeah I remember I played that in 2007 I believe. Anyways I think I'll do a cover of Basket Case by Green Day as it was from 1993 and my game is to look like from 1995/1996, lol.

Anyways, by the sounds of this I think I'll do 6 MODs instead of 5 MODs.

Thank you for your comment Zappman!

P.S. I think I should add something to the graphics and gameplay of the game and show you because it seems like were only focused on MODs of this game.

Speaking of games made in 1996 that use BASKET.MOD, have you played this one http://vault.digital...how.php?id=1790 ?

I haven't. I shall try it. =P

While I play, does any of you have ideas on what should also be there in this game? I've only got:
*an incomplete title screen of lizards chasing a person with the DAY.MOD music playing.
*the start of the game takes place at night (with NIGHT.MOD) in a rather plain field (i like it that way) of land, water and dead trees
*an upcoming first boss to this scene which will look like an astronaut robot dinosaur, (name unknown, HELP!) will have BOSS.MOD just like all boss stages
*when you beat the boss, the setting will turn into day but i havent made any plans for those following boards at all yet. (DAY.MOD will play, but just before that, will have a boxed message explaining the storyline to the music, STORY.MOD)

Try introducing the overarching storyline after the first boss fight.
