Also my computer's in the shop for repair so that's why I haven't been on IRC for a few days. You were all really worried about that, I'm sure.
"Good thing I'm here! No? Anyone?"
..Ignorance is to be unaware of the truth.
....Incompetence is to be unable to grasp the truth.
......And escape is to run away from the truth.
It is useless to run, since the truth is right next to you.

"Now now nowwwwww BEHAVE!" The war cries are the best part, IMHO

Absolutely breathtaking game, it took me about 140 I think... that is with every quest done. What part are you up to? The final few dungeons drag on a bit but other than that... wow.
I am playing Ni No Kuni, about 10 hours into it so far. It's great but it's a bit on the grindy side. Lots of battles (even though they go fast).

Anyway, I'm playing Mark of the Ninja. Best stealth game since the series that opened with rambling about bear pits.

Then I found Escape Velocity Nova. Asteroids meets Elite. Very simple, but that just means it's very customizable.

I've been on the hunt for a new job so I haven't been doing much gaming. Beat Ni No Kuni after 70 hours (with all but 2 of the trophies) and have been dicking around with Sonic Generations, it's surprisingly good. Not on the level of S3+K but easily the best Sonic since then.

Also downloaded dwarf fortress and started to look into it. Reading tutorial stuff, but don't expect I'll get far, at least not for a while. It intrigues me, but I just don't have the time right now for something like that.

Also keep watch for your first...several forts in DF to fall prey to...something. It's just part of the Dwarf Fortress experience

<@Tixus> Anyway, I set the year to 1988 for some reason.
<@Tixus> And set the microwave to run for a minute and 28 seconds.
<@Tixus> But it failed to send me back in time, and I was disappointed.
<Insidious> Tixus accidentally microwaved the 80s
<Insidious> that is my takeaway from this

EDIT: Finished Far Cry 3. I can see what they were trying to do; I think the focus on characters was a little too weak for them to successfully do it. The false choice at the end didn't help (the fact that the entire game gave such a focus to this particular dichotomy you could see a choice along these lines appearing at the end - but the game half-asses it and makes one choice an obvious bad end, delegitimising that choice.)
It was, however, a good game.

Also finished Constant C. Another puzzle/sidescroller, decent length and occasionally tricky, but has some mild Engrish. Also coincidentally in a currently-running bundle with an 8 in its title (Groupee's Be Mine 8).

It's very medium-breaking. Characters will pursue you through routes. You can't even escape from them by loading your game. I bet the reason the game ships on a USB drive is so it can pull a Hobo Dan and snargle if you get a bad end.

Organ Trail is a really great experience if you feel nostalgia towards Apple computers or old Oregon Trail computer games, both of which apply to me. It was great fun and came off with a surprisingly haunting experience for me. Your mileage WILL differ, and I might even bet that you'd hate it, if you aren't really into this nostalgia.
Stealth Bastard is not the most notable game, but it makes you feel smart quite often. It's like Super Meat Boy meets... thinking. Not very engaging but it's sort of fun if you're in the mood to kick back and just snooze through a game.

<Nadir> demos, more like
<Nadir> a glimpse into what could have been if mzx wasn't such a bore to work with
<Nadir> actually, i'm being unfair
<Nadir> i would have made mzx games if it was capable of running on more than 20 computers worldwide in 1998
<Nadir> >:D
<%Alice> functor
<%nooodl> i hear C++ has a thing called functors and they're completely different from Haskell functors...
<rorirover> the result is the most horrid thing in C++, it's basically black magic and it transforms any code you're writing into some eldritch monstrosity

Initially, apart from some inexplicable moments and overly dramatic scenes, it plays out like a pretty normal story with the main heroine. You get a good ending with her. It's when you try to take another path through the story that problems occur- you see, she isn't in love with the protagonist, she's in love with the PLAYER, and doesn't like it when you start looking at other girls! So she follows you. She'll try to kill the protagonist. She'll try to delete the other heroine. You can't escape.
