Lachesis: Based on what I'm seeing, I'm assuming you were trying to simulate a scrambled channel for some MZX effect, maybe like a channel-changing effect. In that case, good job. As the guy who started this thread for a different purpose, please don't post off-topic things like manga and what I assume was either a conference or a community college course.

Lancer: Stellar work as always, though that trashcan looks a little linear.

Is that even MZX? It looks like it didn't take a cut to horizontal resolution, which SMZX would have, and it would be impossible to achieve that many colors without SMZX.

I haven't posted up any progress of Servo's Adventure lately so I thought I'd show some of the stuff I've done lately. This should give you and idea of the variety of gameplay later on in the game. Note that the artwork for the levels isn't complete yet. I just have flat patterns and stuff as a stand in while I build the levels. I can do the art once the game is in alpha or beta.

Level Test
For some reason I really enjoy dark levels, maybe it's the feeling of being all alone in the dark, not knowing what's beyond the torch.

This torch mechanic is working very well I must say. It's running slowly on my micro laptop because of the video capture software. The torchlight program uses a loop that runs 594 times every cycle which was necessary to have them blend together. When testing with a dozen or so light sources on the board at once, frame rate slowed to 8 cycles/sec. The solution was be to have the loop stop executing when servo is far enough away that light cannot be seen on screen. It runs at a consistent 20 cycles/sec. at speed 4 and can be run up to 67/sec on speed 1 now.

I will only have one or 2 dark levels in the game total. I actually wasn't planning to do any but I needed more ideas and I really liked how this looked.
