It's the entity formerly known as Seventh Shade. What has been going on since I flipped out and left? I got married, had a full fledged psychotic break, survived a suicide attempt, got diagnosed bipolar and schizophrenic and put on meds for it, made an abortive attempt to get into social activism, and discovered I'm trans or gender queer or something.

My marriage somehow survived but it's been a harrowing couple of years. Been getting nostalgic megazeux for God knows what reason. Maybe I can fail to finish some more games!

So, what's up?

sounds familiar. there was a bit of 2013-late 2014 where i tried that and it completely went nowhere. i think it culminated with me going to creating change and there simultaneously realizing there was nothing i was willing or able to do, and also that some off-putting cult-like tendencies were spreading into the social justice community at large that i didn't want to be associated with. it was a great place to go, though.

working on any mzx games at the moment? :(

Yeah asgromo warned me about the cultist thing and I saw some of it for myself. No megazeux games at the moment, though of course I have ideas. Been so long though I'll to relearn a whole bunch. Never did figure out sprites or shooting projectiles in any direction.

Hello Asgromo! Sorry I ran off after that last conversation. That was right in the middle of having my meds switched around and I was still a little unstable and paranoid.

I hope that you are doing okay. Are you sure that your gender dysphoria isn't the result of the mental illness?

Welcome back! I'm really glad you survived all of that and got the help you needed.
Currently working on Servo for MegaZeux, I hope to complete it by the middle of 2015? Who knows...

BTW, I've created some tutorials on YouTube that may help you get re-familiarized with MegaZeux. Let me know if you are interested in checking them out.

can i just say it makes me really happy to see jack handey quotes in graham's signature

when i was visiting jack in 2014 with synod (wait, was it 2013? shit, it's been a while) we were one night (afternoon? all the windows were covered up) mostly sleeping or falling asleep and he'd be in his filthy bed reading lines from the stench of honolulu: a tropical adventure out loud, and it was especially funny because whenever he read anything out loud it was with really earnest competence, doing accents and inflections and elucidating subtexts in tone

anyway, to seventh shade: https://www.youtube....h?v=YW8lIav59rA

Ok, so wait... You know Jack Handey? Cool! I don't mean to hijack Verasev's thread, but I'd love to hear more about that. It sounds supremely interesting.

Also, I haven't seen Fantastic Mr. Fox but after seeing that clip I will. It looks dope.

Vjdkdnfjd WELL ANDO WHEN I STARTED TAKING MEDS THE MOODSWINGS AND PARANOIA WENT AWAY BUT THE DYSPHORIA DIDN'T. Make of that what you will. Who knows, maybe the meds caused it. Did a vaccine give you autism?

Graham, I'll check them out.

Asgromo, hehehe I think I get what you mean with that video.

I don't have anything against the whole thing, just be careful about it.

I don't have autism. Never did. It was a misdiagnosis. Ironically, I have what you have.

I don't know much either. I just used to see his Deep Thoughts skits on SNL.

Val is guy? I feel like I owe her some apologies for how I acted toward her during the #pooproad days.

I'd answer that but I can honestly say I don't remember. After all, it has been an entire decade.

Anyway, here I am. I'm "sort of" making a MZX game. But not really. You know how it is. At any rate: Glad you're here.

Join my club. Old-world MZXing all day.

Also, welcome. Way to pull through all of that crazy stuff and come out the other end in one piece! Can you relay your cult experiences through a story-driven MZX game? Thnx :(

I dunno, I think Porpentine has the making games about "things that are freaky and cultist in social justice circles" thing cornered and I don't think making something about it in megazeux would add something new. Seriously, play Vesp by her for that. I could make a game where mental illness is treated with respect and realism I guess, since I have experience with it.

i think there's lots of room for exploring social justice in megazeux. perhaps we could do a game jam thing along those lines. lots of philosophical space to explore

the topic is "foucault was wrong". go

why not go the whole hog and integrate politics and religion? what we need is some good christian mzx games, the purpose of which is to drive the user to a conversion experience after they're defeated by a final boss aptly called "Sin" or "Trump," for godsakes

i'm blowing gold out of my ass, some1 tack notes
