up to you. even the definition of 'wrong' is up to interpretation, as invariably lies can often lead to a greater truth. what we want to do is to explore the circumstances under which michael foucault's theories fall apart / bring society to ruination

why not go the whole hog and integrate politics and religion? what we need is some good christian mzx games, the purpose of which is to drive the user to a conversion experience after they're defeated by a final boss aptly called "Sin" or "Trump," for godsakes

excellent suggestion. i think these are good avenues for exploration. i did some megazeux work that sort of thieved from wittgenstein, it would be really cool to do something similar with kant.

yes. anything you said sounded true. isn't it confusticating how we ply with philosophy under the guise of megasocks. it's high art one might pontificate. you've started a veritable megalution. let's dub it The New Philosophy and change mzx's middle name to MegaSophy

Wrong, the definition of wrong is what goes away when i remember to take my meds. And games could, in all seriousness, be made about any subject so long as they arent crude and preachy. Ruin Diver III had Christian themes and it was an excellent game.

all these themes shall be explored in my upcoming megazeux game "we will no longer surrender this country or its people to the false song of globalism". our plucky protagonist and xir lawyer hit the campaign trail as an aging reality tv plutocrat and a poorly reanimated corpse of a dead political dynasty fight it out to see who will get to make the tough decisions to do nothing about health care, economic inequality, racism, terrorism, global conflict and the jews. in the midst of a patriotism-fuelled haze we explore once and for all if the american dream is dead (it is), if your student loans will ever be forgiven (they won't be) and most importantly, what to do when your puppet presidential candidate dies two weeks from the first debate (unfortunately bernie's supporters all hate you now)

Finally, a game that handles sensitive subjects with compassion, realism, and a deft touch (in a very special place (if you know what i mean :( (nmiaow))).

Versasev raised a great pint that i think needs further exploitation. MegaZeux as Prono. in a strictly philosophical way, we could explode what it feels to mean attraction toward flesh colored asciis

oh my god I really have a sickening urge to make a game like this (in a game jam, DoZ, QDoZ or BKZX) even though I know it will only bring me trepidation and regret

hmm okay. I think in general it's probably best for the game on the whole to be as tone-deaf as possible. no kind of high-brow satire can really work if we're going to be discussing this election, which as we have seen is basically beyond the point of no return already.

in terms of the protagonist, the more i consider making this sort of like Bioshock, the more i like it. the protagonist is around to observe, so you just shove things in the protagonist's face, interpretation is up to the player. one of my earlier thoughts was also putting the protagonist in sort of a reporter-type role, observing what's going on and attempting to understand the broader meaning of it all, sort of like Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72. there's no need for the protagonist to be independent, but picking a viewpoint that is abhorrent to everyone could be pretty good.

don't feel like you need to think too hard about this. i certainly didn't. honestly i just wanted a quick payoff for the Linkin Park - In The End (Converted_by_ModPlug_Tracker).midi.it joke and this seemed like a good way to do it.

Yeah but how does the combat work and who would you be fighting? Or is this a story only game? Also, I think the protagonist should be an accelerationist socialist trying to get Trump elected to make people so sick of plutocratic capitalism they will fall into the arms of socialism.

Eventually, though, you'll have to put down Trump, a monster of your own making.

how about we make the protagonist an anarcho-capitalist who sees the continuous irritating and petulant election coverage as violating the NAP and has come out of their 50km deep nuclear strike bunker for the first time in thirty years to retaliate against both candidates and the entire american electoral system

mmmm, that could work.

In the final chapter of Rewrite the protagonist joins both warring factions (Gaia and Guardian) and plays them off against each other so he can weaken them both down and destroy both of them. i like that idea except it's probably taking this a bit too seriously to be funny.

sometimes you just need to give the player 32767 ammos and 32767 hibombs and have a [ message box explaining that the char-edited tigers are west virginian coal miners (my inability to give a better example comes from not having as developed an understanding of american politics as a citizen would have, which is why i'm limited in how much i can contribute to this game)

This is great. It has kind of an Fallout vibe, what with the vault dweller going to face the big world outside. Maybe sneak a few more Fallout references in? So where does our intrepid anarcho capitalist go next? Does he even have any money to buy food with? How does he get involved with the election, if at all?

He wouldn't steal, as that involves a violation of the non-aggression principle. So the only way he can make money for himself is to sell something he already has or to provide a service.

And of course, he's going to have to "defend himself." A lot. No point in having second amendment rights if'n you ain't gonna use 'em.

Also, when you meet Hillary Clinton, her aides have to keep super gluing parts of her body back on.

One of my favourite RPGs is Morrowind. In Morrowind attacking someone unprovoked is a crime, but killing someone who is attacking you is fine. You can goad people into attacking you with the 'Taunt' option, if you're persuasive enough. You can even bribe people so they'll listen to you, then taunt them more if you aren't quite persuasive enough to do it right off the bat. The best part is that you can take your money back afterwards once you've killed them, and it's totally legal!

Anyway, a good thing about AnCaps is that there's all sorts of things that count as aggressions and can be responded to with lethal force. Some (most) may not be upheld by the law, but that shouldn't matter.
