I've been playing Sonic 2 and 3 and want to make some FM synth tunes. Here's a new thingy from the OST of the project I'm working on:

I like the sound of that tune. I love FM synths

Speaking of FM synthesis, there was a really nice groovy sonic-esque track on ubiktune not so long ago:

Worth checkin' out! For inspiration

P.S. That whole album is pretty solid ( https://ubiktune.ban...fm-funk-nirvana )

Wow! Yeah that would fit right in with Lava Reef zone in Sonic 3. Great find.

Wow, I've actually listened to that album a few times and Bomb Boy's track is my favorite. I absolutely love it. Taiga and Lacustrine Beat Machine are very good also. I used to be in with that gang on IRC but... couldn't really keep up.
Being into FM synth stuff lately is an indirect result of another thing Ubiktune 'released'. It was a Sega Genesis style OST that's a homage to Sonic 3 that was for an incomplete game project. It made me want to replay up to Sonic 3, and that's what got me into the FM synth swing. Anyway, that album's Nexus Genesis and it's amazing: https://soundcloud.c...y-nexus-genesis

I love how chipper and groovy this kind of music is. And also, quite some talented folks on Ubik

Hot damn! Love it - intense from the very first moments and keeps the insane tempo up till the end. It's like a stew of Prodigy with a pinch of In Flames served on a plate of Gradius.
Also hey Sai'ke, long time no see!

You?

With the protectorate fleet fully assembled, you decide to take the fight to your adversaries' doorstep. Your hands feel clammy on the ship's controls. Too many lives were lost already. It's either now or never. You will never get another opportunity like this.
You know the task ahead. Now all you need to do is do it!

Cool music! Also is that plot a nod to Ender’s Game?

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.

The actual game story is probably a mixture of a lot of science fiction I have enjoyed. I think for the world building behind it I borrowed a lot of ideas from Ender's game, Hyperion, Neuromancer, Deus Ex and the Mass Effect series. Not that you'll notice much of that during playing

this may or may not be of interest to you.
I've since been fiddling with a .WAV/.OGG based patent for Interactive Music Streaming at high quality (based on iMuSETM), called PAGANINI4TM.
That is all I can tell you of my Patent (MZX Patent 0,000,009) that is a TRADE SECRET by license (sic!) from LucasArts of Nicasio, CA.
Sincerely yours,

Tentative intro theme for the game.

Another galaxy map or shop theme for the game.

In the game, you will have a certain amount of time until planets start falling. This theme is for when things have taken a turn for the worse. Make your move soon, or there will not be much left to save.

Got a playlist of my "albums" and "EPs" on Youtube: https://www.youtube....ArUkuscwhQ9RMJd
I'm currently attempting to write a soundtrack for the MZX game I'm working on. I want to come up with themes for characters and environments that are memorable but not too in your face. Considering writing the whole thing in Reality Adlib Tracker. Been a while since I've been serious about using that program.

I'm Scarmiglione Malebolge, full name Scarmiglione delle Malebranche dal Malebolge.
I've released 3 music packs for MZX over the last few years, the latest one's CV_MAGIC 26th Anniversary Edition out today, still pending approval.
Hope you enjoy it with a dash of nostalgia, even use it (as it is intended - for laughs) in your games.
I bet it'll drive you crazy in 1 min 28 sec
(that's its running time but it's made to loop)

THE MEGAZEUX ANTHEM
Sung to an old Russian melody, Po dolinam i po vzgoriam
Lyrics by Scarmiglione delle Malebranche dal Malebolge, the MZXer
Ambrosine it is a circus,
And their premise it is wrong,
To expose it is my purpose,
Therefore I do sing my song.
TO EXPOSE IT IS MY PURPOSE,
THEREFORE I DO SING MY SONG.
Proud to be a MegaZeuxer
(Not a path for everyone),
I would rather stick to Zeuxing
And all other consoles shun.
I WOULD RATHER STICK TO ZEUXING
AND ALL OTHER CONSOLES SHUN.
I'm a happy MegaZeuxer
Where I make games day by day,
I would rather stick to Zeuxing
Than my passion give away.
I WOULD RATHER STICK TO ZEUXING
THAN MY PASSION GIVE AWAY.
Every single other console
Is to us a threat'ning foe,
Ambrosine the traitor offers
Quite a lot to whet our woe.
AMBROSINE THE TRAITOR OFFERS
QUITE A LOT TO WHET OUR WOE.
Hackers who did hack Sierra --
Those are folks you'd love to hate!
MegaZeux by far is better
Than a smutty Larry Eight!
MEGAZEUX BY FAR IS BETTER
THAN A SMUTTY LARRY EIGHT!
MegaZeux is too a Circus,
It's not what it used to be --
Although Zeux is still my purpose,
Yes I still love Zee-Zee-Tee!
ALTHOUGH ZEUX IS STILL MY PURPOSE,
YES I STILL LOVE ZEE-ZEE-TEE!
Hope you like it!
