This appears to be a unique shareware copy of ZZT with two ZZT worlds titled "Best of ZZT". Unlike one might think, it's not a compilation, but instead is two unique games which are... fairly standard Town of ZZT clone fare. Not very fun.

More interesting is this is the only copy of ZZT I've ever seen where the editor is completely locked out. It is literally impossible to get into the editor on this version, pressing E on the title screen just causes the title screen to redraw.

This came from a cd full of shareware games that I got in a good will for $2. It was full of interesting stuff, some good (Descent, Jazz Jackrabbit), some terrible (most of it, honestly)

Killer Bees was a standout among the terrible games just for being ridiculous.

I streamed it for a bit, I'll probably have an archival unedited video of it on youtube soonish.

<@Tixus> Anyway, I set the year to 1988 for some reason.
<@Tixus> And set the microwave to run for a minute and 28 seconds.
<@Tixus> But it failed to send me back in time, and I was disappointed.
<Insidious> Tixus accidentally microwaved the 80s
<Insidious> that is my takeaway from this

Oh, I remember the Best of ZZT worlds. They've been around for a while. Didn't know that they made a launcher specifically for those, without an editor, though. That's pretty interesting; I thought the source code to ZZT had been lost.

I think it is possible to disable the editor by editing the configuration file ZZT.CFG
