Hello!

I'm making a game sort of like MZX (and ZZT), because I really like that DOS aesthetic. And I've always wanted a multiplayer version. So I'm making a multiplayer-enabled version of MZX (scriptable with Javascript) and with full multiplayer support. It actually works right now and I'm looking for people who like this kind of game to participate and make some stuff with it. Here's a quick video of some of the most basic offline editing features: https://www.youtube....h?v=mbDdPLkHCnE

Annnd. Uh. I guess that's it! Thanks for watching. I'm going to make a video next of the multiplayer system. I've got a server running where some friends and I have been making some stuff. Might be worth capturing a video to show off what it can do. :(

If you're interested in playing around with this thing in beta form let me know by PM or whatever. I just created a Twitter account too, @RunekitElkaar

This looks pretty nifty. Seeing js being written in an editor that looks a little like Zenburn-flavored MZX gives me a weird shot of cognitive dissonance.

I'll check it out if I get some free time, hit me up.
Need a dispenser here.

Thanks! And yes, heh. One of the things I'm most happy with so far is the code editor, and not because it's incredibly capable or anything (yet), but because writing a "modern" language in what feels like an oldschool copy of Borland C++ for DOS is somehow gratifying. :(

Also, I chose JavaScript in particular not because it's a good language (it's arguably pretty bad) but because it gets the job done, is easy to learn, and is pretty ubiquitous these days. My main goal with RuneKit is to provide an easy toolkit for game/world creation, so I don't want users to have to learn some esoteric language.

Thanks for taking the time to watch the video, I'll send you a message soon with a link to the beta.
