I'm ridiculously lazy, and SMZX mode 3 is awesome and I want to use it. Because I'm lazy, I didn't want to generate or hand-make my own 256 color palette. So I went looking for one. I tore the palette from Ultima 6 out of the game files and then decided "well Ultima 7 looked better" and went after those too. The result is the archive attached here.

u6pal.pal is the "general game" palette from Ultima 6 and is in use throughout the gameplay.

The numbered palettes are from Ultima 7. Since U7 did funky palette stuff for various effects, it seems like the first one is the general daytime palette, the second one darker, the third one is night time, and the rest are various translucent effect lookups (things like fog/haze/color flashes). I don't fuckin' know, I'm just guessing. Anyway, if you're too lazy to make your own palette like I am, here you go. Have fun.

Remember to be in SMZX mode 3 before you import, and back up anything you don't want to lose.

That's a nice beginning palette. I had an issue because I went from an already established palette in SMZX mode2 and I wanted to transition into mode3 and take advantage of indicies. Where to begin? Well the answer was to create an indicies that matched mode2. If it helps anyone else, I will share it here. you can open your mode2 palette in mode3 and load this indicies file and it will look the same.

Currently working on Servo for MegaZeux, I hope to complete it by the middle of 2015? Who knows...
