Message from the Management

When you finish a new game, demo, engine, or utility, the first thing to do is submit it to the archive for approval. (Log in first, then Upload a New Game from the sidebar.) Then feel free to post about it in this forum; in fact, please continue to do this. This is so people will actually know about your game and play it. As nice as it is to have archive uploads automated, it's not going to help much if no one knows you have a new game to play.

When uploading your games to the archive, please zip up your game using the .ZIP format, even if it is just a .MZX file. As for less popular formats (such as RAR and 7Z), games uploaded in these formats will be rejected. This is because as wonderful as those compression algorithms might be, ZIP is a near universal compression standard, and the only one that will work with the in-game archive browser planned for MZX.

You can also attach your game to a new thread in this forum. In this case, you can use whatever compression format you find suitable. NOTE: Games posted this way won't be put into the archive unless submitted to the archive proper, or unless the author states he/she wants the game in.

Lastly, we suggest you post a suitable screenshot of your submission (in PNG format) along with the game.

It's a little bittersweet to post this, but here is a complete project dump of my old RPG project, Autumn.

https://www.digitalm...how.php?id=2469

The general synopsis was supposed to be that the player was a space trader and explorer who ends up crashing on a strange planet that is constantly in the liminal state of autumn, between life and death.
They were supposed to spend time talking with NPCs and discovering hints as to what was going on and how to leave.
In the end, they were to face a choice between leaving the planet or being forced to say but attempting to correct the problem causing the planet's strange climate and ferocious creatures: An AI at the planet's core originally in charge of terraforming the planet has gained emotions and become resentful from isolation, and is sadistically toying with its charges.

<@Tixus> Anyway, I set the year to 1988 for some reason.
<@Tixus> And set the microwave to run for a minute and 28 seconds.
<@Tixus> But it failed to send me back in time, and I was disappointed.
<Insidious> Tixus accidentally microwaved the 80s
<Insidious> that is my takeaway from this

Guide to seeing everything:

The robot at 2,26 on the board titled "battleengine" controls debugging variables, including selected enemy group.

To see different enemies, change the "enemygroup" counter within said robot.

Other variables are within the global robot.

To see the credits board as intended, import "credits.chr".

The title screen is available as a board, it just hasn't been copied to the right place. While the overall design for the title screen was mine, most of the artwork for it should be credited to Valerie.

Title screen.

Screenshots of various enemy groups in rough order of how finished they were. Note the poor positioning in some of these groups is due to their coordinates not being adjusted after the screen layout was changed.

The last is an easter egg. This was referencing the joke about MegaZeux 2.84 taking a long time to come out and the "FOUR" meme that came out of it. The game is supposed to (but does not) play the following song while fighting this monster:

Other enemy groups exist in the assets but are not defined in the global robot.

Downloaded! Slick battle system and interesting story, pity this could not reach a "completed" status but interesting nontheless.

Updated with some minor changes (fixed the title screen, it now goes straight to the battle engine when you press P. Because of this, I've enabled the web player so that you can try it out, though you won't be able to see different enemy groups).

Web player enabled.

Also changed around a couple things in the credits to avoid deadnames.

1.2 update released. See the vault record for changes. You should now be able to play through all of the enemy groups (the finished ones anyway) with the webplayer.
