Now this isn't the gun engine I'd hope for (it still uses default bullets), but it's better than just leaving the normal combat engine in. This is the Sten SMG engine from TeleCrisis+, it has reloading (with wait time and SFX), overheating, and a static overlay status bar. Check it out!

Sounds cool!  I can't check it out yet (I'm on a mac at school) but I'll look at it when I get home!

Engine has been updated. The status bar is now much more attractive! Check it out, and feedback is greatly appreciated.

WW, I liked this engine a lot.  Hmmm, I may do something similar to this, well done.

Wow, very stylish! ?I really like the concept. ?A couple of thoughts about the overheating aspect of the engine, though...

You really have to work at getting your gun to overheat. ?You pretty much have to begin with a fresh clip to get the heat high enough. ?Also, overheating leaves you defenceless for only a very short time. ?It depends upon the overall pace and style of your game as to how you want those aspects of the engine to work, but I might consider speeding up the rate at which the gun heats and extending the time you're unable to use it.  The way it is now overheating is more of a novelty than a real factor in how you play the game.

Sorry to bring up a "dead topic" here, but I've declared the engine open source, like many of my others. If anything bugs you, you may fix it. If you wish to add something (like better bullets), you may. If you use this in your game, give me credit someplace.
