Sorry bout lack of updates, I am moving again on May 8th, signing a lease has occupied most of my time :ninja1: I'll get a lot done this weekend

Jayalin: thanks, always good to know there is an intrest in this game ^_^
GentryXaties: SF1 and SF2 were very similar games, SF2 did have a few additional features and a larger universe, but the change was not very drastic.
Steel_Dragoon2000: Yeah Goth sucks.
Easton blue: Yes it will be.
Kurushimi: Thx man.

Okay, so I was avoiding my list of things to do on SFMZX, and started to poke around with the Planet screen...

I always wanted to make the planets wrap-around, (once you hit the border on one side, you end up on the other). Normaly this would be an easy task, but the way this is set up, the robot is reliant on the map 3 spaces in every direction, this made a wrap around map very difficult and tiresome. None the less I tryed to do it, 400 lines of code later I had... Nothing :baaa: shortly there after I decided NOT to do this and to move on to other things.

Yeah so I went back tonight and in a spark of inspiration made the planets flawlessly wrap around. This time it took all of 12 lines of code :fart:

I'm not sure why I didn't think of this before, rather than have the robot look half way across the board for the info it needed, I simply put it all in twice! prior to the change there was a 3 character buffer of c00 spaces (these returned no signal from the robot and apeard blank on the mini-map). Well, seems all I had to do was instead of c00 spaces, just copy the last 3 chars from the other side of the map! I did that all the way around, then put in a few gotoxy commands and it was set.

The best part is, as I said: 12 lines of code. Bonus was that it took no aditional board space because it replaced the old buffer. :ninja1:

Well it's 4am, if I'm posting this late then you know I've been doing some serious work :p

Huge changes to the planet screen, almost everything on it has been finalized. Wrap around planets, abundant mineral list, new graphics, completey redone pre landing menu. Fuel cost re-established. You name it, All I've left to finish up is a few GFX things and I need to replace some of my sound effects (lost the old .sam files in the HD crash)

Planet screen is DONE. (I'm gonna make a few tile sets for it still, but thats like 2 minutes of work)
I'm working my way through my list of things to fix, it's getting pretty short now :p

EDIT: No release date for demo yet. I hope to realisticly have it out in a month or two.

Rev: right now most of the music is comming from the GREATEST PC game ever that unfortunatly no one has ever played. :p

Ledgend: the "previous demos" are almost 2 years old, and pretty much demo nothing of what the game is today. They were released in thier premature buggy state in hopes of me receiving some solid feed back. The idea was, release the game in it's primitive state, get advice on that, and then work it all together.

Also I lost those demos years ago if you track some one down that has one of the old copys of SFmzx, go ahead and try it (I said do not distribute but I don't care about that any more) just remember that they are a total mess. :p

Another 6 solid hours of work done tonight :p

I've been pushing the planet engines to thier limits, trying to find out exactly HOW crazy I can go with earthquakes/hotspots for the less than friendly planets. They are now 25 times as sensitive as they were before... Thats gonna make for some interesting planets.

Also fixed a major bug I created last night where robots begain to duplicate them selfs wildly all over the board.

You did? Do you mean AFTER you took those screenshots, because you might want to check that again.
Looking really nice, if not graphically then functionally. I'm looking forward to seeing how this thing will play.

Rev wants you to enter the palette editor and change every instance of the colour red to a green or grey or something. At least, that's the easiest way.

Basically, I find the red in the mini-map in the space shots hard on my eyes. It might just be the jpg though.
