I'm thinking of releasing an official demo with a bit more playable stuff as the last one was just a taster and only really showed off the engines and graphics.
I would be glad for you to help blackwind, but wait untill you play the demo so you can see what it's like.

This week, on LANCER PONDERS:
<lolilover> I notice alot of Japanese fiction involving kemono-mimi characters always has the main character saving an innocent animal and then the animal returns as a girl to reward him for his kindness.
<lolilover> Well there's a cat that is always wandering around in my backyard. Should I feed it in the hopes that one day a catgirl will show up at my door?

so i can get back to work. the last demo was just to show you a preview of how the game has progressed from the first demo.
i will fix the bugs in this demo and upload it. i doubt there will be another update for maybe a year or so. but watch this space for progress reports.

my pc has commited suicide
and I had no recent backup copies of the latest version
so I thought i'd download the demo off the dmzx
my luck failed as i found out the demo i uploaded was the wrong demo, with loads of bugs and quite a few boards missing!
so in summery:
game progress will be halted untill i get a new computer.
progress will be looped back so i will have to redesign and refix bugs
I will try to recover the lopst demo from the remains of my pc i'm not expecting much from it. i'm sure it was sweating last time i turned it on!

-put more animation in the player character
-redo a few engines
-put in a huge city(I plan about 10 screen sized boards on the surface + underground and buildings.)
I might release the game without the city and make that as a sorta swapworld addon once it's been made.

The weapon animation for all characters is now done for all 5 weapons and 4 races, it looks great but it takes up 45% board memory! but its working out ok. Theres now about 60 map boards done and about another 10+ planned, also a lot(10-15) of "quest" boards and other non-map boards are in the making.
I'm currently going over the enemy robots and other game engines, so it all runs smoother.
My attempts at incorporating a fading engine for day/night have failed, mainly because there is not enough board mem(my global robot is used for the main character engine)
I have also made the world so you can travel pretty much where-ever you want. Think morrowind. Theres going to be a lot of places to explore and things to do.
Im also, before releasing the game, going to put in some link area's. This means that once it has been released, I can make "expansion worlds" to join on. these will mostly be smaller special worlds. Hopefully, if I can make it work, you will be able to travel freely between swapworlds and the main world. you'll have to wait and see.
Hope you're all looking forward to it, because its nearly ready.
. . . I think that once I finish this game I'll be a bit lost in my life, considering i've been trying to make this game for like, over 3 years! The amount of times its been lost, deleted, re-done, re-aranged and everything else thats hapend to it. . .

I remember the first version of LoR I made years ago. It had about 8 boards, one character class, built in enemies, hardly any graphics and it had smileys. But the one thing that has been kept almost unchanged is Laranto Village(Where the human starts), it was designed in the original game.
I would have uploaded that original for a laugh, but it was lost ages ago.

Here's something that I don't think anyone has done yet, and would really work: Have the player's character (with the level and equipment and appearance and stuff) saved in a seperate file. So maybe *playername*.LoR or something. That way, you could start a completely new game if you wanted, but keep your leveled-up character. Or, if you ever made a sequel, you could import characters from the previous game and stuff. So use FRead and FWrite to your advantage.
