Ever get struck by that weird little mood in which you wish, all of a sudden, you could go back in time several years and do something different with your life, just to be check it out? And you realize, of course, that when you think about it you're plenty happy with where you are and what you've done, anyways?

Well, I'm listening to BALLAD3.s3m (<3) and crawling ModArchive a bit, and just suddenly wished I could have been a tracking scene guy. Weird. Another thing I sometimes get a feeling for is I wish I could have been a real book/reading/Lord of the Rings/Narnia nerd, and another, I wish I could have been a band nerd in high school. Ironic, because I remember spending most of my time back then wishing I could be LESS of a nerd.

And you guys? =D

In chronological order of my own history: I wish I hadn't moved away from Syracuse, I wish I learned how to use my computer early on, I wish I'd demanded what was absolutely necessary to fortify my will. Also, I wish I'd learned how to play an instrument, and I wish I'd died at birth (just kidding)

I actually wouldn't do anything. I did everything I did early, like learning to use a computer. And I skipped a grade, which was great because later on I would realize that the class of 2009 are just a bunch of rowdy HOOLIGANS arg.

I only wish I wasn't such a total dork in all my life before high school.

cja: I'm from the class of '09, and I'll show YOU a hooligan!

Seriously though, pretty much just wishing I had made some more socially competent decisions back in ninth grade, and that I'd studied more my first year of college.

I wish I grew up with videogames earlier on so I'm not the total loser in videogames I am now. I also wish I could've been more sociable my whole life; I stil have this problem, today.

I wish I could go back in time and punch the younger me in the face before I do something stupid.

Like extract Jazz Jackrabbit Holiday Hare into the same folder as Jazz Jackrabbit and overwrite the game which I paid for the full version of.

Go abandonware.

Also yeah programming would be cool.

If I had been born about ten years earlier I could have gotten a head start in the gaming industry by doing one of those cheap games that software companies used to pay you for since it meant they didn't have to pay a development team's salaries.

i was hoping this thread would be scientific. =\ here, have some lyrics es:

From the coast of gold across the seven seas
Im travellin on far and wide
But now it seems Im just a stranger to myself
And all the things I sometimes do
It isnt me but someone else

I close my eyes and think of home
Another city goes by in the night
Aint it funny how it is,
You never miss it til its gone away
And my heart is lying there
And will de til my dying day

So understand
Dont waste your time always
Searching for those wasted years
Face up... make your stand
And realise youre living in the golden years

Too much time on my hands, I got you on my mind
Cant easy this pain so easily
When you cant find the words to say
Its hard to make it through another day
And it just makes me wanna cry
And throw my hands up to the sky

=D iron maiden are funny.

I wouldn't have moved from California to North Carolina.

I wouldn't have run out on her (long explaination don't even ask)

I would have learned more about computers earlier.

I would have learned an instrument.

I would have hidden sams tools or demolished that car...

Time machine thoughts are not a good idea with my situation, it only depressed you and makes you feel like there was something you could do.

I dunno if I was thinking about regrets so much, but those do fit the bill, I guess. For me, it's more of a wanting to experience something different...almost like wishing I could have lived two different lives, I don't know. Just some musings.

hmm, as i look back i would have gone out with some of the girls i was friends with back in high school, because i was too stupid and shy at the time to realize they really liked me and now that i've actually figured out the signs that a girl likes you and whatnot i realized i could have gone out with a couple of them and probably had a really nice relationship. it's a shame too because in my opinion the girls i knew in high school were way cooler than the girls i hang around with currently.

however, one must notice that if i did go back and change something, even if i made something better at the time, it could cause a chain reaction to start happening and god knows what could happen. all it takes is one minor thing in your past to be different and your whole life could take a totally different path. hell i could end up crippled or dead or something. so if i actually did have the chance to go back and change something i would have to seriously consider it, because honestly my life isn't all that bad right now and i don't think i'd really want to risk it.

also there is the temporal anomaly that occurs when you go back in time to change a specific event which is that once the event is changed, you no longer have a reason in your future to go back in time and change that specific event, which means the event never gets changed, which means you then DO go back in time and change it, which means you no longer have a reason again and on and on in an infinite loop that never ends and probably would cause a paradox or something, making the whole situation impossible to begin with.

yeah i could go on forever about time travel actually, it's one of my favorite subjects...

i wouldn't have gone back to miles city. first time i went there, it was with my dad to see my great-aunt. while i was there i met up with this girl i met on yahoo three years before then. we saw "the pacifier" with her friends and went down to this bar where they let us all in to play pool.

after that i drove her back to her place and we made out for three hours, fully clothed. she didn't want to go any further, and i didn't force anything. it was one of the best times in my life. in the middle of that godforsaken desert, in one of the offskirts of a dying town whose businesses consisted mainly of taverns, there was a kind of love one would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.

three months after that, i made the trip again, this time by myself. we went to warped tour and saw FALL OUT BOY and MATCHBOOK ROMANCE and all of them. but anyway, unbeknownst to me, something rather tragic happened to her before i went. so there i was, wasting the good part of a week in a desert hellhole, just trying to spend some time with this girl who was all over me last time i was there. she couldn't see me, though, because she thought i was just like the person who traumatized her. i was alone and confused, and i had no one to talk to, no one to comfort me. it was one of the worst times in my life. toward the end, i cried like a fuckin' baby for three days straight.

miles fucking city.

i also regret eating poorly and not exercising in my younger years, being an enabler for my dad's alcoholism and not standing up for my family, and allowing multitudes of people to use me for my car, money, time, musical prowess, etc.

my life kinda sucks. thanks a lot es :[

There are a few things I would like to do if I could travel back, just to see what it would be like... but really I wouldn't change anything permanently, because I like who I am today.

I might have gone back to first grade. My teacher thought I had a learning disability, because I drew murals all over my desk. A few tests later, and I was offered to skip on ahead to third grade, but my parents didn't want to because they were afraid I'd be a social outcast. Glad I didn't... but it's funny to think I could have graduated last year.

There are also some relationships I might have avoided... but then again maybe not.

If I could go back in time...
There's a certain hairdo I'd stop myself from getting. Ech.
Or better yet, I'd go back a few months and stop myself from cutting my hair again. Man is this taking forever to grow out =(

I'd also stop myself from befriending certain people in high school =\
Here I am, back from space! Now, where are the ghosts?
