This is going to be post apocalyptic roguelike with a nightmarish feel to it. You'll be using typical futuristic equipment to fight monsters that are anything but typical.

Story (What there is of it anyway. And it could easily change.)
In the far future there exists two main strands of humanity. There's a rich, high-technology upper caste who controls everything and a poor, primitive (even more primitive than us) lower caste who eke out lives in the slums. The rich people discover some new kind of science that lets them shape reality with thought alone. Unfortunately, it picks up on every thought, including the jealous thoughts of the underclass and their own sub-conscious fears. It unleashes a tide of horrors and reshapes the very planet. The upper caste is completely annihilated and what's left of the poor folks cluster together in small communities scattered everywhere. People can still warp reality with their minds and monsters still roam the land. This is where you come in.

Attatched is a zip containing two text files. One lists the types of items you can find, the other is of a list of monster ideas to peak your interest. If you can think of any monsters or whatever that you'd like to see in this game please let me know.

<Malwyn> Yes, yes. Don't worry I'd rather masturbate with broken glass than ask you for help again. :(

Did I say it was original? I just wanted big guns and bizarre settings/monsters in the same game.

Besides, it's a roguelike. Everyone will just run around killing things without paying attention to the story anyway.

The line of sight engine, time engine, and player movement are done. Right now I'm working on the random dungeon generation. The dungeons will hopefully be a lot denser and more interesting than most roguelike dungeons. For starters, different dungeons will be generated different ways. They will also have unusual things like levers and consoles that can be activated for various effects (yes, i stole this from doomrl).

What's left
Character creation
Action resolution
Experience system
Monsters
Items
NPC's

I've got as much of the dungeon generation as I can get done finished (90% of it). The rest is monster and item placement, which of course has to wait until those things are done. Right now I'm working on character creation.

Enemy and item placement is generally what pauses a lot of projects from releasing any time too soon. Think wisely in how you go about it! ;)
