Yyyeah... That's what i am doing right now. :p
Backporting MZX games to ZZT. Just to bring 0.1% more games for ZZT.

As you know, my last MZX->ZZT backport, BACONC 2, was very good, using a comparison of BACONC 2 MZX with MZX standards applied and BACONC 2 ZZT with ZZT standards applied, the ZZT one turned out better (and maybe harder to do) even though both were made in the same period of time (30 minutes?).

Now i'm planning to port another MZX game. Give your proposals HERE.

And remember, Aperture Software apologizes for the inconvinience and wishes you the best of luck.

QUICK EDIT: I'm thinking about STAN, no wait, that game is too good to be in ZZT :p

Morning Star would be fun to do, only requires a few workarounds.

There are a lot of games that would be impossible to covert over to ZZT. Now i know its possible to create font sets for ZZT using .bat files and .com fonts, but for games were there are large moving sprites would be rather hard to emulate. However though there are plenty of games i've played that use the regular ASCII char set and average built-ins that would work out nicely, ported to ZZT.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever manually converted "Zeux 2: Caverns of Zeux" over to ZZT?

EDIT:
I almost forgot... ZZT has some harsh limits on how many robots you can have on a single board.. plus i think the overall board limit in ZZT was 150? This means you'll have to work with rather short, smaller MZX games to convert. Good Luck though!

Caverns of Zeux may be possible...
Demon Earth is impossible, must check Pandora...
That's Odd is centrainly possible with little changes.
Insanifest will need to have less explosions, but that just ruins the fun then.
Morning Star may be possible...
Fritz Blitz with major workarounds may be possible if i will find out a way to do trig in ZZT.
Huh.

OH so your going to shrink down the size of sprites larger than 1x1 chars... "eye sea, eye sea" said the blind man.

Nope. I'm going to replace everything with ASCII chars.
Well, Caverns of Zeux is a 100% possibility for porting i think. I will even try to get around to it. Or not.

Max board limit is 100, and you can only have 50 objects (Or was it 100?) on one board.

Also you have a size limit too of 250kb.

Board size limit: 32767 bytes (ZZT only allocates 20000 bytes, so larger boards may be unstable)
Stat limit: 151 (Including ACE (Player))
