Let's regurgitate half-baked game ideas in this thread.

Towercraft

Remember Castaway? I wanted it to be more like a combination of Minecraft and tower defense, in my plot to create the most addicting game possible. Unfortunately that sort of fell through because MZX was the wrong platform. It basically required something object-oriented, due to all the items. Tower defense is great, but usually you are just fed resources. It'd be great if you had to build mines and harvest your own.

Artifact Game

Etrian Odyssey style gameplay with a detailed overworld map which has dungeons in it. In each adventure, you have to reclaim an artifact from a dungeon. You win the game when you've recovered all the artifacts, one per dungeon. You can use characters from old adventures in each new adventure, if you want. It had a cool classing system based on stat orders. Here are some docs.

Falling Blocks

Falling block game like Wario's Woods or Tetris Attack. Except with like dynamite or something that you use to blow up blocks (click click). You have to blow them up and position them right to get as many of them as you can.

Guncloud Wizard

You kill enemies and then possess their guns, which follow you, floating around you. When you shoot, all the guns that are following you fire. oh and before I forget my name is [inaudible due to heavy gunfire]

Modal Gun

I guess I just thought of this? You have one extremely customizable gun and you can save a bunch of configurations for it, which are your different "weapons." Each statistic, like accuracy and rate of fire and damage, costs points. So you can have a low-accuracy, low-damage, very high-bullets shotgun or high-damage, high-accuracy low-rate sniper.

now you!

DASH HERO

Your only form of attack is derived from moving fast. You cannot attack directly, but you can run, and the faster you run, the more energy you build up. When you run into a wall, you create an explosion proportional to the speed you were running. Falling from a great distance works too! Most of your enemies are squishy, though, and some can stick to you when you run into them, leeching life, so running into them isn't effective in most cases. The ones that are solid enough to work usually have other means of hurting you, like energy guns.

An action platformer throwback to Ninja Gaiden and Mega Man with visual novel esque dialogue scenes between levels... oh wait :(

A massive action adventure game with four-directional shooting buttons and hitscan weapons where you play a mind-controlled pawn of the emperor of a nation, who's attempting to recover an ancient artifact to pierce the dimensional barrier to gain otherworldly magical powers because he didn't win the Day of Zeux... oh wait :(

A Megazeux port of a quick-witted puzzle platformer with a 1x1 character player who is seeking the only artifact he's never studied: an ancient staff buried in the... oh wait :(

I was going to try a halfchar-precise platformer one of these days, but I ended up teaming up for the DoZ instead... next DoZ, I might try doing what Lancer-X did and make a game but outsource the level design to somebody else

OH MAN this just came to me

Vacuum Gun

You have a vacuum gun, and you can suck in projectiles and collect them to use as ammunition later. Might use mouse (mouse aim) or keyboard (Mega Man type gameplay). The rate of fire depends on the maximum diameter of the projectile. And certain particles are better against some enemies, like spikes vs. armor. What would really top this game off, though, is creative levels with plenty of deadly projectile variety.

If you don't realize how awesome this is yet: You can gib an enemy and vacuum up its organs and bones to kill the next enemy.

I have written some game ideas. I will add some when I have more ideas. They are all in one separate file, so I will link to it: http://zzo38computer.cjb.net/textfile/miscellaneous/computergameidea

(There is also a script (with FurryScript) for generating video game names, but that is just titles, not ideas.)

I've been thinking of a game where the point is you are given tools to make a TAS of it -- first inhuman timing and skills are required, then planning and intentional glitches come later. (You'd be taught about the latter in the way Super Metroid teaches you about walljumping: they're already there, you're just shown them later on.)
