This is the MegaZeux Palette Editor including mode 0 and 1 and 2 and 3. It is provided as a MegaZeux world file (no other files are needed), and is in the public domain. (I have used some others but I didn't find it very good, so I made the new one; I am unlikely to need it much (generally the standard PC palette is good enough) but now I have in case it can help.)

idk i think having to load a separate .mzx app to edit palettes is a total motivation killer but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ looks useful if you don't mind that

i believe in the static smzx palette (or, at least, a palette with static portions, even if those portions move around), but i also believe in having a utility optimise for most efficient use of colours because it's a huge headache otherwise.

the problem is that if you decide you want to change something later it completely screws up your allocations, and you need clever allocations in order to get much use out of mode 3 in the first place.

<Malwyn> Yes, yes. Don't worry I'd rather masturbate with broken glass than ask you for help again. :(

True, I mostly get around that with an in game palette editor. It allows me to modify colors on the fly so that I can keep an eye on different graphical elements during play, so I can see if I am screwing something else up or not.
Currently working on Servo for MegaZeux, I hope to complete it by the middle of 2015? Who knows...

static palettes just do not fly in the game i'm working on right now. some areas use a map that affects the hue and brightness of sprite/effect colors, and you can't fit that into the palette for every char on the screen, especially because the colors have to be in a certain order for effects to work...

edit: this is what i mean
