Oh wow, I'm glad you found this article, it's amazing. Let's start with the headline:
Okay. Well, for some reason I doubt anyone on the Trump team quite said that, but clearly they said they would do something "as soon as possible". Let's see what it is and who said it...
Okay, so Ajit Pai and Michael O'Rielly are the Trump team in question. So who exactly are these men?
Ajit Varadaraj Pai (born January 10' date=' 1973) is a Commissioner at the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC). He was nominated for a Republican Party position on the commission by President Barack Obama at the recommendation of Mitch McConnell. He was confirmed unanimously by the United States Senate on May 7, 2012, and was sworn in on May 14, 2012, for a term that concludes on June 30, 2016 (though he may stay on until 2017 even if not reconfirmed). Pai previously worked as a lawyer for Verizon Communications.[/quote']
Doesn't sound like a member of the Trump team to me, but I could be mistaken... and it looks like his term is up by 2017 anyway. I'm surprised Obama is nominating members of Trump's team all the way back in 2012. Unanimously, too. Did the Senators know that he was a member of Trump's team?
How about the other guy?
Michael O’Rielly is a member of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC)' date=' an independent agency of the United States government. He was nominated by President Barack Obama in August, 2013 and was confirmed on October 29, 2013, taking office on November 4, 2013. He was nominated to complete the term of outgoing commissioner Robert M. McDowell which ended on June 30, 2014. He was renominated and reconfirmed by the Senate and will serve in the role until June 30, 2019.[/quote']
Man, another member of Trump's team nominated by Obama. I'm amazing Obama even knew Trump was going to win the next election all the way back in 2013, in order to get ready to stack the FCC with all these members of his team. He could have given Hillary a heads up or something.
So, exactly how does any of this even tie to Trump? Well, it looks like it's his comments about finding ways to shut down internet jihadists. I suppose the jihadists are really relying on Title II protection, and not e.g. using Facebook and Twitter and Youtube to communicate and proselytise.

Trump Team Says They’ll Kill the Open Internet “As Soon As Possible”
Okay. Well, for some reason I doubt anyone on the Trump team quite said that, but clearly they said they would do something "as soon as possible". Let's see what it is and who said it...

FCC chairman Tom Wheeler, a Democrat, has announced that he’ll leave office on January 20th, as the Trump regime takes over. That leaves, three people in charge until a replacement for Wheeler is confirmed. Two of those people, Ajit Pai and Michael O’Rielly, sent a letter this week to the five largest telecom lobbying groups promising end net neutrality with their newfound power. The letter reads in part:

… we will seek to revisit those particular requirements, and the Title II Net Neutrality proceeding more broadly, as soon as possible.

Ugh, Jesus. Fine. You win, lancer. Now can we talk about whether or not net neutrality is under threat again FOR WHATEVER REASON. Here, you tell us if it is, why it is, who is responsible. It's your show, go.

Oh, probably. I think it usually is. Trump sees net neutrality as being stifling regulations that impede innovation and that's probably not a good sign. I wouldn't say it's more under threat than it was previously though.

The web was already toast the minute people started trusting Google and Facebook unconditionally.
Look at the slow boil with Youtube. First the forced integration with Google Plus, then requiring a working phone number. Then just a few weeks ago, ads on almost every video recorded so loud they make your speakers clip.
No government could do that much damage. Unless one or more of them had something to do with the ludicrous censorship architecture that has been obnoxiously imposing itself on every mainstream website.
People even accepted Windows 10. How do you salvage a situation like this?

There is an ironic double-edge sword going on here. As the democrats are working with media outlets such as Snopes and the Washington Post and companies like Facebook and Google to phase out anything those 4 deem "fake news". I'm not American so phasing out various alternative outlets based on how they feel they view liberal politics, is a bit worry-some. While most of us Canadians are left leaning, it appears Facebook and Google will be creating a more filtered bias that is primarily only left. Leaving little room for a neutral news or alternative news.

The United States is the last place a thing like this should happen. It's one of the most bizarre things I've seen in my life. Don't worry, it won't last. The whole thing is insane, and its masterminds will run out of steam as Americans ignore them harder than ever.
