First, you record every sound, such as a, b, c, th, ch, etc..

Then, you program it into one robot, eg.
end
:c
sam "voicepitch" "c.sam"
end

and if you want to say a word, get another robot, programmed to do something like this:

end
:touch
set "voicepitch" 300
send "voicebot" "th"
wait 2
send "voicebot" "e-long"
wait 2
send "voicebot" "b"
wait 2
send "voicebot" "s"
wait 2
send "voicebot" "w"
wait 2
send "voicebot" "i"
wait 2
send "voicebot" "k"
wait 2
end

Okay, that's not a word, but you get the general idea.

I had this idea a long time ago only I used mod samples instead of individual sams. Anyway, the idea works, though, it sounds like a 5 year old retarded dyslexic guy with teeth growing out of his forhead is saying it (IOW, it sounds like crap).

So making it isn't hard it's trying to make the quality good thats the hard part.

Actually if you do it right, You can get 1/2 or a Short Sentence in, And get it Good Quality, I looked into this for my Game and got most people to do Recordings for me that sounded Pretty close to the original. But not all my peoples had Mic's so I couldnt do it. :eyes:/>

The advantage of using sams is that you can have different voices from one sam, or you could put emphasis on some words. (ie. Holy crap!!!)

well since all it is, is an alpha sound played at a certain frequency I think that Mod Samples would work fine... Isn't there a command that plays a sample from the playing mod at a certain frequency?

No, it's only external sams, not internal ones that can be played at multiple frequencies.

Wouldn't it just be easier to make a different SAM/MOD/etc for the different talking part thingys?

It depends on how many different speeches you want made. Booshkies, for instance, would be better off using this system.

I can't think of any other examples though :p/>

I think I have solutions to just about all of the MOD speach problems except for the abscence of voice actors, and the large file sizes.

You can make it sound a little better by waiting different amounts of time for different sounds (some sounds take longer to pronounce than others)

It would still sound pretty messed up at the wrong speed though.

For some reason, I feel the outcome would be much better if it were done in Japanese. Sure, it might be monotone, but it would sound great.
