Um, three things... I've hardly got the inspiration to get this done now, other things have taken up my time considerably, and what I've made so far is pretty frustrating to work with. If it's not finished by Christmas Eve, I'll just put whatever I managed to get done on here...
Anarchist Creations
On the other hand, if my work on the Christmas special turns out to be a waste of time, then I may very well return to work on this. I doubt Anerki will want to continue with it, as he has other important stuff he's working on, but I'm pretty much determined to get this game done before I leave the community no matter how long it takes for me to put my efforts on it.

The DoZ gave me a pretty big motivational rush. Stay tuned for more details.

Anarchist Creations
I still have a lot to do before I can release a demo. I've planned how I'm going to go about creating the battle engine, but that's still pretty minor compared to the other stuff I still have to accomplish. Soon, I'll be mapping out how much each characters' stats can increase, and thus will be recreating the status menu engine from scratch, giving names to abilities and items as I go along. Afterwards comes the battle engine, then creating concept boards, followed by programming everything in like cutscenes and whatnot, and finally, I'll hand the thing to Trev so he can polish it up and make all the pretty graphics. Beta testing, moment of silence, release. Afterwards, I can work on the rest of the game.

<@Tixus> Anyway, I set the year to 1988 for some reason.
<@Tixus> And set the microwave to run for a minute and 28 seconds.
<@Tixus> But it failed to send me back in time, and I was disappointed.
<Insidious> Tixus accidentally microwaved the 80s
<Insidious> that is my takeaway from this

I started on the status menu last night. Once it's complete enough, I might put up a screenshot or two. It's pretty cool how I chose to do it.

The status engine isn't done yet. I added a new option to the main menu this morning that allows you to check character status, but it still doesn't do anything. It actually shouldn't take long to implement compared to the other stuff I have in mind. Once I have that part in I'll post a screenshot.
BLARGFRDRGMAHAG! (side project, 70%)
I've actually thought of getting this out of the way tonight. It's been so close to being finished for ages now, and yet I haven't touched it in months... more to come later.

I decided to ditch the cameo idea for this game to speed up progress; I will be the only MZXer that actually appears. Right now I'm doing the names of all the NPCs and what their purposes are, if any. I've got half of them done right now.

Well, I didn't get it done yet, but I did lots of work on it today, including adding in all the NPCs, making the area where the final confrontation takes place, and doing the very short credits in about five minutes. If it's not finished tomorrow, I can guarantee it'll be done by the end of this week... and if it's not out by then, it's being reviewed by two users I'll handpick to do my beta testing.

It's finished now, more or less. I'm just looking for somebody who'll review it, since the humor is crappy and the game looks rushed, IMO.

Just to show you I've been working, here's a preliminary screenshot of the new status engine. Notice how you can see the board behind it...

The stats that each character will have are confirmed. This bumps progress up by one percent; now I need to get working on the damn engines.
If there's not an update to this thread within a week, I suggest you reply and tell me to get to work.

Bah, who cares, get to work. ^_^
EDIT: Oh, the 16th... er... nevermind.

<Malwyn> Yes, yes. Don't worry I'd rather masturbate with broken glass than ask you for help again. :(

Two songs are done, and I'm working on the third (the battle theme). I've decided on most of the game's main plot characters as well, including a possible villain...

Blegh... well, I've got lots of battle engine stuff planned out, and a core element to the system is already coded in. Other than that, nothing has been done yet, since EQ has had me sucked in for the past two weeks, what with me starting on my druid's epic and all (don't ask). I'll think of something to do soon.

Leaning towards writing more plot stuff now. I keep thinking of some stuff I can put in but then I forget to put it on paper... this time I'll pay more attention.
BLARGRAGHADAUGH! (side project, 7% complete)
On hold until after the DoZ, or until I get whatever rush of inspiration needed to finish it.
