Who of you collects DVDs? I do... and man, it's an expensive hobby. A list of my current DVDs can be found here.

Anyway, post anything DVD-related here.

it's probably just as well i don't have a dvd player. on top of being a big nerd about cds and comic books there's no way in hell i'd be able to afford dvds as well. because if i had a dvd player i would buy dvds.

Heh, that's a funny picture, Pyro. :D

Nadir -- yeah, it's bringing me close to my financial doom... I used to buy CDs, but I hardly ever do that these days. There are plenty of CDs I want, but man, it's all so expensive. Or perhaps I just need a job. :/

Anyway, here's what I'm looking forward to:

- LOTR: ROTK Extended Edition (December 12th)
- Twin Peaks Season 2 (let's pray it will some day see the light)

I recently acquired the US (region 1) release of The Fearless Vampire Killers, which is the first movie by Roman Polanski (1966, I think). Hilarious!

I buy new releases on DVD, if they are worth watching. I also have a few older movies on DVD that were given to me.

currently in my house are my brother's movies:

go
inventing the abbots
novacane
momento
lock, stock, and a few smoking barrels

some others that are just lying around:

star wars ep.2 (blech)
AI
emperor's new groove
monsters inc.
spiderman
lord of the rings: the fellowship (just for VHS), two towers, the return of the king (I think. I gotta see the extended version. It's supposed to have what, like over an hour of extra stuff? dang)
some marx brothers dvds

and maybe a few others. Who knows. I hardly watch those anyway. seen them all too many times. Except for my brother's movies. I wanna see lock, stock. Haven't actually sat through the whole thing before. I've seen snatch though.

actually i've not been buying cds so much lately, i've only bought seven in the last two months which isn't much compared to previous prowess

also herc i wholeheartedly approve of your dvd collection

i mean man, it has DELICATESSEN

that is one badass film

EDIT: you don't have the evil dead films though, which makes me sad!

also may i recommend dvd releases of spaced, father ted and brass eye, which are all amazing british comedy programmes (well, father ted is irish, but whatever)

spaced is by the people who did SHAUN OF THE DEAD before they made that film and is pretty amazing

I have a relatively small collection of DVDs, though we are getting more.
* The complete collection of the "Megaman" TV show, two collections of three discs each.
* The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers (original edition)
* The Fellowship Of The Ring Extended edition (even better than the original.)
* Various DVD collections of early cartoons and comedy shows, such as The Three Stooges (comedy gold =) or Popeye.

I'll check out those comedy programmes you mentioned. I haven't heard of them!

How is the animated Tintin? I really liked the comic books, but I've only seen about one minute of the animated version.

I'll be watching those first 100 Strong Bad e-mails on DVD once I get it. Oh, I can't wait to see Homestar Runner on an actual television set for the first time!

I read a few Tintin books from the library as a little kid, then a couple years ago I was given one for Christmas and remembered just how good they were. I've never read any of Asterix, but the premise sounds like a winner.
I can't wait to finish college and get a real job so I can buy myself some of the stuff I've been wanting to buy for a long time, like anime and comic books.

Man, I have over 200 DVD's (which sucks because it's hard to find the ones I want). Among the highlights are the first two volumes of Invader Zim, some Monty Python's Flying Circus, Ren & Stimpy, City Hunter with Jackie Chan, Ferris Bueller's Day Off (still the best movie ever), and the special edition of Total Recall (with the neat tin case that looks like Mars).
Blaugh!
Serious damage to important body parts pretty much ruins any plans you had for living. Bummer.

well, last night I just watched, on DVD, this has gotta qualify as DVD-related, right?:

the water boy (never even seen that before. I've want to see happy gilmore. Heard that it's funny)
some of Resident Evil (which I didn't like a whole lot. or, it was okay, just that the CG monster looks so fake. it's sad. They should've tried a model, maybe?)
the Texas chainsaw massacre [sp] (this one I thought was a bit stupid, but it was satisfying whenever the girl ran over the officer twice. Even though I kind of liked that guy in full metal jacket :D .. all that movie is based on is that a few people were killed in texas with a chainsaw)

Nice! I badly want Ren & Stimpy on DVD, by the way. Same goes for the UK release of Bucky O'Hare.

All I have is the LOTR trilogy, which I just watched again yesterday. Fun stuff.
