Hey guys,

I've not really been able to do anything MegaZeux orientated in quite a long time. I'm really busy with work. But I'm glad most of all that work is now paying off. I've been on TV quite a lot lately. There's a documentary coming out in April, about me which will be a few theaters in Ontario and will also air on OMNI. A couple videos i helped produce were aired on CBC I was told.

I hope to finish all the work I started here with MZX. But I'm concerned that I will never have the time to do so anymore. Perhaps when I take another vacation and not leave the city I could just stay at home and work on my MZX games lol

Cheers

My life just got a bit busier. I work an average of 11 hours a day. I no longer have the time to work on my MegaZeux games. I hoping for better days not just so I can work on my old projects but so I can once again breathe or sit down for at least an hour without doing anything work related.

Okay as some of you may already know, I do not intend to complete all of the games of which I have started. I've finally gotten MegaZeux back up and running and I got some free time during this long Easter Weekend, so I've decided to attempt to complete a few projects. In going through the list of nearly 100 uncompleted projects there's quite a lot of which I've recently decided I'd never complete. I won't list them all but for today here's the latest of the games that I've decided to discontinue:

Tweety and Sylvester:

Peril Phantasy:

At this moment I'm working on fixing the battle engine in Dragon Warrior and fixing up some of the controls in Eight Shades of Evil. I've also added a couple new stages to Tardnations.

EDIT:

So basically.... I'm back :(

I think you release a big pack of games you have discontinued, like gemini's stock pile.

The more projects I discontinue the more time I'll have to work on my major projects like Dragon Warrior, Zelda Inquest, Tardnations, Eight Shades of Evil, Super Mario for MZX and Side Draft. That being said, here's another game I've decided to pull the plug on:

SIM City

There's a couple other games I've dumped. Very small games with not much to show for.

Tweety and Sylvester looks hot, I miss the days of licensed characters in MZX games. I wanna make a Peanuts game.

Here's a game I used to have a lot of passion for making. Its a remake of Star Craft for MegaZeux. It was working pretty well until the coding became way to complex for me to even keep up with it. Game used actual sounds and music from the original. I've decided to purge this game as well since Star Craft isn't as high profiled as it used to be.

Stop confusing me! lol

I guess I may consider doing so in the near future. I've worked very hard the graphics and mechanisms for these discontinued projects. So instead of deleting them all I may just do that and upload their source files.

Good. Now go make Jet Pack Man 2.

Think I might scrap this game, despite how easy it would be to complete it. The demonstration version of it should still be in the archives.

I'm at the moment just patching up a few unfinished games. I'm hoping to have something done by summer... but I pretty much say that every summer, now don't I? :(

They kinda remind me of those wishing troll toys with the wild hair colors.

Purple Troll

:(

But I assure you those things were not my inspiration for the character design lol

As much as I'd like to complete all of what I've started so many years ago, I am now forced to select a small number of them for completion. If i were to attempt to complete every possible game I started, I'd have to quit work and not sleep ever again! Now I just have to form a priority list.

What game would you like to see completed first?

They all look really good, but the one I'd like to see finished first is Super Mario for Mzx. Those graphics are amazing :(
"I'm not superstitious, I'm just a little stitious." - Michael Scott
"I'm a victim of circumstance!" - Curly
"I reject your reality and substitute my own." - Adam Savage
"Why don't you cry me a river, build a bridge, and get over it."
"I see you're drinking 1%, is that because you think you're fat?" - Napoleon Dynamite

I have about 30 unfinished mzx games, and I plan to keep it that way.

Ha darn... I was afraid everyone was going to say for Super Mario. I'm going to have to donate some time to really review all the coding in that game again. I put it aside due to all the problems that cropped up after i added too many sprites to the game. I believe I made over 100

Its really ironic that I made a typo in 2004 saying that I predicted that I'd finish Super Mario for MegaZeux in 2007.... look at what year it is now :(

To be honest I'm quite afraid look at the code all over again in Super Mario. Its such a huge mass of sprites with different scripts. Its quite a hard game to emulate in MegaZeux but I believe in myself! I may not open the game today but I'll try to donate some time to look into working on it.

I may poke a bit at Zelda until i find some real time to fix Super Mario for MegaZeux.

Does anyone know the answer to the question I asked here?

http://www.digitalmzx.com/forums/index.php...ic=11073&st=120

That would help a lot for many of my incomplete games.

Hey everyone! Its been a long time since my last post in my journals. I've been attempting to finish some of those projects I once started. Its been a very daunting task, requiring a lot of time and mind, two things of which i really don't have right now.

Its very possible i may drop even more projects, but i promise you this! I will leave you guys with enough high-quality games to remember me by for when I leave and move on :)

Once I get the Super Mario Engine working perfectly and completed, I'm going to move on to Zelda and Dragon Warrior. Using parts of the Super Mario Engine I hope to also complete Mega Man, which i started years ago as well.

Just a small update:

Dragon Warrior

I've been working on converting all Dragon Warrior enemy events into sprites. Will make things a whole lot easier since I'm using the 3 monster party system where you can fight 3 unique monsters instead of just one - like in Dragon Warrior for NES.

I'm going to do what most RPG's do and have the different lvl monster spawn points. So if your near town you will only encounter low lvl randomly generated monster parties. If your far away, you will encounter high lvl randomly generated monster parties.

Super Mario

I've begun working on the stages. I'm trying to think creatively about how to design each stage while maintain that classic Mario feel.

Side Draft

Fixing up a lot of bugs that were actually crashing MegaZeux. All fixed now.

Quite a few Kikan enemy sprites are based on the NES Dragon Warrior games.

But if you wanted i could whip up a demo of it with improved graphics. It just requires a bit more math to get the game working smoothly. Its very similar to MZX (SIM) Tower is based mostly on time and money counters.
