i played the tic tac toe game for 20 min. before i realized it was riged. I felt pretty dumb.
the game is compiled of a few very short games all of which can be beaten in 30 seconds or less.
mildly fun but get lame quick. 2\5

Something tells me Zanzindorf doesn't quite understand the whole point of the MegaZeux Superstar series. (Note: this review contains spoilers. This game is really best played without having read the reviews, but if you've read the page this far you've probably already spoiled the game, so I'm not even sure why I'm warning about it.)

The joke behind this game is probably the single greatest part of it - not only did Greg trick us into downloading it under the guise of "Shadowfall", he also tricks you (the player) throughout all four of the games.

The Flight Simulator is the simplest trick, given that someone unfamiliar with MZX Superstar 2 would pick it first and have no idea what to expect. The build-up has you expecting something extraordinary, but the realization that the flight sim turns out to be nothing more than a basic action game with default MZX bullets makes it pretty hilarious.

The "network application" is actually quite convincing - it places you in an IRC-like environment, except with a collection of "avatars" on the main screen. Text scrolls by as if a real conversation were taking place. Your avatar's movements have noticeable input lag. Even though MZX has no real networking support, the effect is highly convincing to someone who isn't aware of that fact.

The "thinking adventure game" actually seems as if it'd be a proper fun game, with quite good production values and nice chiptune music. As you progress, however, the opponents become more advanced, until you fight the bear in the tunnel and discover that there's no possible way to beat him. (That's the joke. Take note, zanzindorf.)

Lastly, there's the "psychic" program, in which you are asked to think of a number between one and ten. The game then guesses at your number. But the joke: it always guesses seven. The game will never continue if you repeatedly answer "No", that your number is not seven, so you're forced to finally tell the game "Yes", at which point it gloats that it has never lost.

So yeah. Humor, without really needing to tell jokes. The game effectively is the meta-joke, in that it contains morsels of comedy that are tied together by a single joke by itself (the fact that this game even exists).

Five out of five - because no other MZX game has warranted my writing what effectively amounts to an art thesis about it.
