Awful.

Was there even a plot.

Run around shooting poorly programmed enemies, bosses that often come off as just plain annoying, and what the hell happened in the endings?

One of the games from the AOL Megazeux archive back in 1995. I think this was the first one I ever downloaded. Man, I thought it was awesome, the way that one boss changed color as you whittled down his health...

This really aged badly. You're put up against hordes of thief built-ins in a game where there's no gems, and you have 32767 health and 32767 lives. The (stationary) multi-char bosses are just tedious to fight. They throw seekers at you with really no way to hide or destroy them (there are no bombs in this game either).

Interestingly, there are two endings! The game lets you choose from two final stages, each leading to a different ending. Each is less than a minute long. Apparently there's a secret ending too but I never found it.

Graphics aren't good, but I liked 'em back in 1995. I still kind of do like them.

No music, no sound.

Interesting specimen here... it's called "Contra" but the only thing it has in common with the Konami game series is an alien invasion and helicopters. Hell, I guess it is a pretty good approximation, even if a crude one. Except for the action part.
