The Stolen Zambooboo demo... weren't there "ads" for this on the Megazeux Stockpile? It really didn't age well. It was intended to be an adventure game where you find a "zambooboo" that was stolen from the zoo.
Most of the game's combat uses the built-in mechanics, including the first boss fight. Which is horrible because it has too much health and you only have 50 ammo for the fight. One board is a spiral shaped maze with walls made of lava. The second boss battle is a basic JRPG-style fight, the only one in the game. There's two sidescrolling boards, one of which is painful to navigate because of all the single-tile platforms.
The graphics are about as basic as they can get, and there's few songs in the game. I do like the bizarre "font" though.
The demo runs out of content shortly after the JRPG boss battle.
I'd recommend playing instead the last game I reviewed, Random Quest I. It's sort of like Stolen Zambooboo except with the most maddening parts streamlined out.
