The Life of Mr. Ascii was WildWeasel's first completed MZX game. The game consisted mainly of Cans and Darkness style humor, as well as many pop culture references. It was not received particularly well by critics (the vast number of inside jokes, as well as near lack of game play are cited as reasons).
Shortly before releasing this game, WildWeasel also released Diet Mr. Ascii, referred to as a "demo" version of the game (despite the fact that the demo and full version are actually two entirely different games).
